Yeah Jalen actually had his worst month when we were playing our fastest lol contrary to popular belief.
Jalen has been looking to use his athleticism to attack the rim as his first option on offense during this hot streak. This helps get him in rhythm and puts the defense on their heels creating space for his 3 point shot. He’s also hitting a lot of spot up 3’s that his teammates create for him. This is Jalen at his best. When everyone wanted Jalen gone, his number one offensive option was typically those pull up mid range jumpers. Just a bad inefficient shot. The threes he took were also off the dribble or more contested. If Jalen continues to play to his strengths it opens up so much for the whole team.
What makes you think that this is "for real" this time? Honest question. And what happens if he regresses again?
Is the defense this season real? Is being the second seed real? Is having a career high in scoring efficiency for the season when he hasn't even reached his traditional post asb stat inflation real? Is his season scoring efficiency higher than both Sengun and Fred?
He's played at an MVP level the past 6 games, no one expects him to maintain that, but if he stays anywhere close to that, he's a Rocket for life.
Here come the subsection of Jaters I like to call the "Lumpers" ... those guys who scoff at traditional metrics and have introduced the world to D.I.L.D.O. (Dunkers Imagine League Drive Offense) broken down conveniently into arbitrary X amount of games. You will always know its an adherent to D.I.L.D.O. because they nod their head as they type.
I think for his fans or fans in general it is a candy, an eye candy for sure. But usually you give him the contract basing on year long production and not a March Madness streak.
Jalen starting to figure this out, it's coming to him at ease. Amen is the huge factor to his growth.....
Let's be clear -- someone who averages about 22 ppg on a .56 TS% is easily a top 50 player. Probably closer to a top 30 player. So, to break it down... Over the last 82 games, Green has averaged about top 30 player numbers. The last 20, top 15. The last 7, MVP candidate numbers. At 22 years old.
