Hey Clutch City fans, I was wondering if you had any advice for a Houston Rocket fan who will be attending his first Houston Rockets game tomorrow? Anything I should check out to make the whole trip a complete experience? If I show up real early, is there anywhere I can wait outside the arena to get autographs or something? Thanks ------------------ Sir Charles is DA MAN.
If you want EXCELLENT mexican food and margaritas (although, somewhat pricy for mexican food) before the game, El Tiempo, between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway--on Richmond, is just about walking distance from the summit. It is without a doubt, my favorite mexican food restaurant. ------------------ For players who have played in at least 70% of the Rocket's games this year, Mobley scores more points per attempt than any other Rocket. He also jockeys back and forth between second and third place in steals on a per minute basis, and is just slightly out of first place. If he sucks so bad in shot selection and defense that he doesn't deserve a decent payday, the rest of the team needs to be CUT!
There is no chance at all for autographs - it just doesn't happen in Compaq Center, unless you have a post-game pass, and those are only attainable from a player or coach. There's not much to do in CC - in fact, there is NOTHING to do. There is shootaround 1, which starts at about 6:15 (only a few players and coaches come out for this), then shootaround 2, which starts 15 minutes before game time. Otherwise, you can go over to the food court and eat, but that's it - really, that's all! ------------------ Jen Round One of Malone v. Rodman: Advantage Malone
Are any players making personal appearances around town this weekend? ------------------ Sir Charles is DA MAN.
Advice? hmmm.... No matter where you are in the Summit, act like YOUR seat is the best in the house! Cheer the team on like a fan possessed. Shout for defense. Make lots of noise when we score. Watch Clutch the Bear. Watch Turbo. Be sure to get your free Team Roster from the "usher/where's my seat people" Hope the Jazzercise Club of Houston isn't your halftime entertainment. Watch the "Rockettes" errr... Power Dancers. Make fun of the tumbling male "Power Pack!" Act like you could do bettter. Don't grab, pull and render the Southwest Airlines Blimp that they fly around the Summit un-fly-able! Take binoculars if you are way up. Even though you can still see from way up.. the binocs help you take a closer look at the Power Dan..... errrrr....the team. Whataburger and Pizza Hut seem to be the best deal in the food court! Pappasitos Mexican is a rip off, and the meat is not always cooked through. Baked Potatoes with Chipped Beef from the BBQ place reek real bad especially when the lard @ss next to you has one! Don't get beer from the first vendor you see, walk around there's an "import" beer stand and its all about the same...$5 Stay till the very end. Make them kick YOU out! Tell them you wanted your money's worth! Go to the bathroom before halftime when the line's aren't as long. Collect free souvenier cups left behind and give them to all your friends as gifts! Have fun! rockHEAD
SirCharlesFan asked, "Are any players making personal appearances around town this weekend?" I'm not sure about that, but if you want to see some cool memorabilia, go to (hold on to your hats) Gallery Furniture... I went there, ONCE, and they had some pretty neat stuff, shoes, pics, autographed things not to mention a bowling alley and Elvis stuff. A real FREAK SHOW..... rockHEAD [This message has been edited by rockHEAD (edited March 02, 2000).]
I can't believe you guys! The Best Thing To Eat In Compaq Is Earl Campbell Hot Link Po-Boy Doused With Earl Campbell Hot Sauce. Trust me. This is the best food in the place and the only place you can get it is at the CC. At $5, its a good deal too.

Hey RockHead It's a nationally televised game tomorow. That would be a great time to hold up a SAVE OUR ROCKETS.com sign ------------------ ~John~ Trade No One and Keep Rudy T. JohnyRocket's Fan Site
