But why would they trade him to a team that is going to be a contender in return for a bunch of picks in the 20s and still not control any of their own picks for the next 6 years? They would have to be getting some top-tier talent in return.

I’m good keeping the picks of a completely incompetent franchise. If we make no further deals with the Suns and keep their picks, I expect one of them is going to pay off big time.

I agree..I believe the rockets shouldn't trade with the suns at all.. instead hold your picks till someone game changer ask for trade .. booker is good but giving up green plus those picks aren't worth it, booker hasn't done anything with out Chris Paul , before and after Chris Paul..he's a offensive super weapon but he doesn't improve anything around him, he's a star not a super star but am not the GM lol.. but I think it's a move everyone is gonna regret doing if it happens

    That’s the point:
    • The chance of them trading Booker by this deadline is slim.
    • The chance of them trading Booker to any team other than Houston is slim to NONE, because it’ll be almost impossible to get equal value back without their own picks

McMahon is (or at least was) friends with TF. That pre-dated him being on the Rockets..... McMahon is also who TF called when he wanted to really trash Harden going out the door because he was angry that DM and JH both wanted out and got out..... so it is very possible that TF or even Stone (who is exceptional at playing politics) has spoken to McMahon about Booker and Durant. Both Stone and TF have big mouths.

I personally have heard numerous times that both TF and Stone want Booker.

The tension between Gobert and Mitchell wasn't a creation by McMahon. It was real - Gobert was not very popular with his teammates in Utah, and would often take jokes too far.

Jalen Green isn't a thug - but Jalen Green was around KPJ, who is a hoodlum and thug and Green hasn't always exercised a lot of maturity in his private life. Having said that, no one said **** when Larry Bird had a kid out of wedlock - and as far as I can tell Green has met all his obligations and is only 23 years old.

True but the notion is that we want to use those picks as bait so that we can net a pure scoring talent like Booker... and obviously this helps keep him off the west coast teams (i.e. Warriors/Lakers/Clippers etc).

I'm honestly ok with waiting, which is why I mentioned timing being everything, but if Stone finds the right deal NOW... I would not be angry with his decision. Regardless of what he traded away, might I add.

Whose the last Free Agent Star player that wanted to come to Houston ?

Take the stars we can get because they sure as heck are not signing here in FA

CP was for all intents purpose a FA transaction as well, despite it technically being a trade.

Stars rarely move in free agency anymore period, at least not until they hit their decline phase well into their 30s. That's not really the point. The point is, Devin Booker might not be the best player to spend our trade assets on. That's highly up for debate IMO.

If we get Booker, we'll need to keep Brooks for defense...would rather trade FVV instead of Brooks...we can have Amen be our point forward, similar to how Pippen was used with the Bulls.
If we trade for KD, then Brooks becomes expendable.

And don’t forget his trade kicker if he gets traded. That’s the window if we trade for Booker. We’ll be close to 2nd apron and still have to pay Jabari Tari and amen. The suns owner doesn’t care about luxury tax. I guess we’ll find out how much Tilman cares or don’t care about it. Assume info we trade Jalen for Booker( I don’t see why Phoenix would take FVV over Jalen; they’re not jsut taking back FVV and picks with filler.) Houston would have no choice but to pick up FVV option. Booker can’t run an offense and he definitely doesn’t set tit.
He’s not a floor general. So that would be our championship aspired roster.

    sengun
    FVV
    Brooks
    Booker

And I guess either Amen Tari or Jabari. One of them will be gone also in the trade with Cam.

I read there forum on a potential trade with Houston and their fanbase doesn’t even care about their picks. They said Houston can have em because the suns will always be picking inthe 20’s anyway and they’re not interested in a rebuild. Their locked in guys echoed that sentiment. They rather take back some of the Houston core versus those draft picks.

I hope this doesn't affect Green emotionally.

I wouldn't be surprised if Green circles the Suns on the schedule.

Even the haters have to admit Green ain't a front runner and will talk **** and try to back it up. He's done it to Booker, Beal and Ja before.

He's going. To try to block the **** out of Booker
