Taken as a whole (results from both trades), the Hawks traded Danilo Gallinari + 2025 swap + 2026 FRP + 2027 swap for Dyson Daniels, EJ Liddell, Larry Nance Jr. and Cody Zeller. The Hawks saved face and probably came out a little better in the end.

They have a whole team full of shooters and no one who can rebound or defend.

We tend to forget how long it takes most of these guys to develop into NBA players, they are coming in younger than ever and really raw as players. Development isn't going to happen overnight ....

That 27 swap looks to be pure gold.

Im including Ryan Dunn in any trade package that involves PHX reacquiring their picks.

I just don't see Brooklyn bottoming out that season. Teams without an incentive to tank rarely do unless they're injured. San Antonio fans were looking at Atlanta's picks like gold because the Trae/Murray pairing didn't work. But like you said Atlanta has no incentive to tank until 2027 and here they are, above .500 and a play in team. OKC fans were salivating over our picks and we ended up giving them the #12 last year which sucks, but we were a .500 team and would have been 9th in the East with a chance to make the playoffs. We didn't bottom out like they hoped we would. Tanking is usually purposeful.

I wouldn't mind the swap netting us a late lottery or mid-1st round pick at all. And of course I could be completely wrong and they suck and the swap nets us pure gold. I'm just more optimistic about the 2027 Phoenix pick because their team is already old, not good, and have very few avenues to improve due to the 2nd apron. Plus they're in the West so that's a plus. We'll see how things turn out.

Good pickup for the Suns. Nick Richards would actually give them good defense alongside Dunn and Royce O Neal.

Honestly wouldnt mind Nick Richards for the Rockets as well if it just cost 3 second rounders.

Not anymore….Suns just got better with a trade for 7’0 Nick Richards…..basically a 10-10 guy. Just what they needed as they had no backup center and this should help.

We’ll see how Richards impacts the Suns. Okogie is a pretty solid player. Fairly young, good defense, tradeable contract. This, really, was the last move the Suns could make. The basically have no more assets.

    (1) Clippers had a day
    now for the excuses
    (2) jet lag / time zone difference
    (3) Claxton still hurt
    (4) No Cam Thomas
    (5) No Cam Johnson
    (6) Nets couldn't find the net (<20% 3's & ~30% FG%)
    (7) they are tanking and not even hiding it anymore
    (8) insert excuse here ;)

Fun fact: KPJ STILL didn't get any minutes despite the Clips blowing the Nets out

It isn't about them bottoming out that season. It is about them bottoming out before that season and other teams not tanking while being further from bottoming out. I'm not expecting the Nets to be the worst team in the league, but unless they get Cooper or Harper, the teams that get Cooper and Harper are further along than them. Charlotte already has Brandon Miller. Toronto likely is healthier. The Nets goal will be to get better for the future. It will not be to try to win every game they can in 26-27 to spite the Rockets. Sure, they will win more, but their moves will be more for the future.

While I don't expect the East to have a bunch of juggernauts, in a couple of years, they are going to have a much healthier middle class. I think most of the tanking teams are going to be in the West as the old guys retire (or don't, but play poorly on massive contracts).

I was wondering about that. This appears to be their attempt to improve the team as much as possible immediately and see what the results look like between now and the deadline. If they aren’t .500, how can they go forward with this team?

The Suns still have the 2031 pick. Also, they could probably make a deal with FRP swaps with OKC (probably the only team with some picks worse than the Suns heavily swapped FRPs).

It was a longshot but Suns beat Wiz (so hurts our pick)

No Bradley Beal or Nurkic or even Nick Richards in PHX win
