Would only do it if he costs almost nothing. Dude is 36 years old and one major injury away from his career being basically over. He has never carried any team to a championship, only hitched a ride with Steph's historic team. There will be higher bidders than whatever I hope we'd offer (if anything at all).

I wonder if Butler has been in contact with Harden on how to effectively exit from a franchise?

I would have no interest because of the cost but a lineup of fvv, jalen, amen, durant, jabari would be pretty fun

They honestly think we'll give them all of their unprotected picks back (their 2029 pick is actually unprotected despite what they reported) PLUS give them an unprotected pick of our own for a 36 year old KD? Do they think we're desperate or something?

They must have read my posts. Only thing is he is not worth what they are saying. One Phoenix pick, one Rocket pick, FVV and Reed. Done! Anything more and hit the road, Jack.

Ya i would not consider it if that's the cost, only if it was basically for nothing.

If we were really going to do this we would need to hold onto to Fred. It would (unfortunately) Have to be Brooks as the filler I guess. And I still don’t really want to do it.

Brooks/Jock/Holiday/Uncle Jeff and a first? I mean, I guess but I think Brooks means a lot to us.

Buckets: How do you effectively exit from a franchise?
Harden: "Depends on how you define 'effectively'."
Buckets: "Well, tell me how you did it."
Harden: "Which time? The first time: Ask for the max contract you know you deserve."
    Buckets: "I did. They're f***ing me over."
Harden: "But I was young then. You're 35. There's a difference. So, second time. Getting out of Houston. Step 1: Start banging the Sara Lee's. Cheesecake, coffee cake. Step 2: Start sandbagging. That ain't working? Step 3: Show up late. That ain't working? Step 4: Don't show up at all."
    Buckets: "What about Brooklyn?"
Harden: "Special case, there. We had Flat Earther Headcase.
Buckets: "Good point. How about Philly?"
Harden: "Philly? Ask for the max. Don't get it? Dog out the GM who'd been kissing your taint across two franchises and first time you don't get your way, whine to the media."
    Buckets: "Will that work?"
    Harden: "...

Would seriously consider it even knowing Durant only has 2 good seasons left in him. I'm confident by then Amen/Green/Sengun can carry a title contender, especially after they are playoff-tested with Durant. For essentially 2 picks and Brooks, it would be hard for me to say no.

They still think they can ask for more though so let them suffer a bit more.

Would love Durant even at his age, but we also have Phoenix over a barrel. If they want to try a rebuild without their own picks go for it, and none of the contenders picks are gonna be worth a damn for a few years at least.

No reason we have to go to them and overpay. If they want a kings ransom they can take their business elsewhere.
