Yes, they shaved off the tumor - which was part of the bone, inserted a rod to stabilize the bone and to promote faster healing. Now the rod is still there, and speculation is that he has some scar tissue that is irritating in that area, that either needs to be removed or for him to naturally break it down. or The rod is bothering him, and will need to be removed - meaning 8-12 weeks of additional healing.... No one knows and the above are just guesses by me. DD
I believe "very soon" means "come back for 2 games, report increased soreness, shut down for the year".
There Dr. Brian Sutterer on youtube that provides really good explanations to injuries and he even speculates based on what he sees on video and what is available online regarding the injury. Maybe enough of us on Clutchfans can bug him on private messaging that he will do a video for Tari Eason and discuss potentials.
Anything that needs a second opinion and a third opinion is a serious matter....no matter what. It seems he can tolerate the pain at times to play a few games here and there and even go to the stands to confront a heckling fan.
"Day to day" for a month now. Just embarrassing from the Rockets to do this for a second straight season with him, and people will somehow continue to defend the blatant misrepresentation of his injury. Pretty amazing.
All the while his mother is blaring out his past injuries and implying he had issues since his childhood.
I'm so confused right now because I never saw that reported on the injury report. Why on earth did they insert a rod into his knee for a benign tumor? Am I missing something here? EDIT: so seems like the tumor was part of the bone. I get it now. What they're not telling us is that taking a tumor out of a bone weakens the bone. Seems like the rod is not holding up. Pulls the rug from under my speculation and I've rarely been so happy to be wrong.
I’m just waiting for the inevitable surgery out for x amount of months. Even if he plays again, it’s bound to happen.
He had a fracture or more fractures, the rod or the thing was there to stabilize. The growth was linked to his fractures.
We have great chance to get price for both Jabari and Tari this offseason due to them not hitting the ceiling. Also I rather be safe with knee issues when he is still young.
Reading this thread really brings home the fact that the Rockets organization is terrible at keeping their fans updated on injury info. What a clusterfcuk.
I just hope they're being honest about Jabari. There's still some confusion over whether or not he did have surgery or still may.
Starting to think this is some Astros under the table news. He might have something more serious but they are downplaying it. Like when they told us Kyle Tucker would be back in 2 weeks ---- the truth was like 5 months.
Tari is starting to feel more like a luxury than something you can rely upon. That's too bad because I love his game, but they say the best ability is availability and he doesn't seem to have enough of that right now. Hope he gets well soon.
