Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7….. “hey, and when I say that I really believe it”……..
Of course, if you say Jordan and Pippen you automatically expect 6 championships and repeats. If you say Jordan Poole and Kuzma.....then not so much is expected.
If Jalen has become THAT GUY - then the PG you surround him with can't be a max guy because Sengun is a max guy as well and I think you still need to keep money on the table to sign Amen at any costs because he is literally the best wing defender in the league and a highly effective low usage offensive player. The priority from a roster construction standpoint has to be: 1. retain the all world defensive player in Amen because this is built to be a defensive minded team 2. retain the 3 level scorer if we think Jalen can keep this up because every legit playoff team needs that guy and he is literally the only one on our roster 3. retain the low post specialist and playmaker in Sengun 4. find a shooter who can stretch defenses and pushes the ball up court who isn't a max contract player - sounds A LOT like the person we hoped Reed would become, right? 5. retain as many of our defensive guys as we can - Tari, Jabari, Dillon, etc 6. can we retain Cam given all of that?
Agreed, although Jalen always had a superstar, lead the league in scoring ceiling as well, this is a much better comp for Amen. What's scary is although Pippen is an inch taller and has a slightly longer wingspan, Amen is more athletic than Scottie, and personally I think he has much better character and mental strength. Check out thier numbers, and although a different era, Scottie's three-point shooting percentages As I've said in other posts, Amen's ceiling as a 20+ pts 10+ rebounds 6-7+ assists and All NBA/DPOY candidate player is a superstar, and a HOF player in Scottie's case. Scottie Pippen's First Three Years: Amen Thompson's First Year and a half: Amen as a Starter:
I like it but Jalen and Amen are more athletic at this point, than T-Mac and Artest when they were with the Rockets.
Who knows if green will b the next mj, but its better to envision your player being the next mj than brewer 2.0
Extreme anti-Sengun can addle some minds. Everyone who can jump is Jordan-like and, I don't see any similarities at all between Pippen and Amen, but anything to denigrate Sengun's key role in the Rockets. To the OP, there will never be another Jordan and Pippen just like there will never be another Dream. Jalen is doing fine in the past games but let's not get ahead of ourselves by comparing him to Pippen of the Bulls dynasty. Hopefully, Jalen can be consistently playing like he is currently doing going forward. He can then create a legacy of his own without overblown comparisons to other players.
I agree with what you’re saying and if you go back and READ the entire post, I stated just that....There will never be another Jordan, Magic, Hakeem, etc. I was solely alluding to Jalen and Amen's paring. An ELITE scorer with a DO IT ALL wing. I don't think a lot of people read the whole post @Bobbythegreat is one. They just ran with it after they saw Jordan and Pippen.
And I didn't mean to slight Sengun, he's a good player. It's just that Jordan and Pippen never played with a good scoring center, because the focus was on them
