I don't disagree with your thought. But it will be Amen, not Jabari, who will replace Dillon. Jabari is already a starter. In the Amen thread, a lot of people advocate starting Amen over Jabari. Amen can start at pretty much any position except center. (Even that can be possible.) So if Amen starts, the choice is between Dillon and Jabari, assuming Jalen's status is secure. I think Udoka trusts Dillon more than Jabari. But Jabari does have some advantage over Dillon too. So it's hard to say.

Tari's situation will affect how they value Dillon. Ime would love to keep the Terror Twins. If Tari's health becomes a permanent issue, Dillon will be more important for the team.

    https://www.theringer.com/2025/01/13/nba/kevin-durant-phoenix-suns-trade-jimmy-butler-rumors

… Rockets GM Rafael Stone has said he isn’t interested in taking any big swings before the season ends, but when push comes to shove, it would make sense to add Durant for a package that wouldn’t shorten their encouraging runway to championship contention. No, he isn’t on the same timeline as Houston’s ascending core—and it’s too soon for the Suns to part with Booker, who’s 28, is extremely good, and still has three years left on his contract—but KD is the rare offensive talent who’d make the Rockets (currently second in the West) a legitimate threat to win it all without mangling the long-term development of anyone else on that roster.

Durant still has immense trade value for any team that’s interested in winning, but thanks to the second apron, Phoenix can’t take back more money than it gives out or aggregate multiple contracts, which quashes so much possibility.

For the long-term health of Phoenix’s organization, though, it should be willing to prioritize the retrieval of its own draft picks. It’s a little complicated, but essentially, the Rockets have swap rights this season (which they will likely exercise), plus Phoenix’s unprotected first in 2027 and a protected first in 2029. If the Suns can get all that back, plus another unprotected first-rounder from the Rockets, Fred VanVleet, and Jeff Green (to fulfill salary requirements), they absolutely should. If Houston doesn’t bite and chooses to wait and see how its young core does in the playoffs before making a run at someone like De’Aaron Fox (or Booker) this summer, Phoenix should pick up the phone and see how the 28 other teams feel about adding KD.

Generally speaking, these Suns have easily the worst ROI in basketball history. Replenishment should be their word of the day, every day, until they have a future that isn’t shrouded in dread. Would the Thunder have any interest in virtually guaranteeing themselves at least one NBA title with a full-circle kumbaya? Could the Warriors be tempted to cap their dynastic run with one last hurrah? Could the Spurs have their cake and eat it, too? Do the Magic see themselves as a team that’s ready to win it all right now—in all seriousness, assuming Franz Wagner returns this season—and are they willing to part with several picks and someone like Anthony Black to do it?

The Suns should be proactive here. The alternative is where they currently are, encased in a pressure-packed work environment that sees every win as a relief and every loss as a step toward more disruption. That’s the world these players and coaches live in, beneath the thumb of an owner whose stubborn obsession with the present day has fostered a claustrophobic, avoidable sense of desperation.

    Is Michael Pina Hemingway?

FVV, Jeff Green, 2025 Suns pick, 2027 Suns pick, 2029 Suns pick (it is actually unprotected with Rockets swapping sending the worst of three picks to Brooklyn that season contrary to what Pina says) plus another unprotected FRP for Durant? Just a crazy thought.

Phoenix is dead in the water and it would be a miracle if their big 3 stayed healthy for the last 44 games.

Keep the pick and roll the dice on the lotto.

Phoenix's picks plus Jalen Green would be the price for Booker. Durant should cost much less, I would venture to say two of their picks back (2025 and 2027) and no Jalen Green.

It would be silly to trade unprotected FRP for an old (yet effective) Durant. We aren't winning the championship with Durant in the next two years, Oklahoma and a few other teams are just too good for our team to beat. Those picks are going to help the Rockets continue competing for the next few years, without having to worry about home grown talent that we will potentially lose if they blossom (can't keep everyone after all). Trading for Durant at his age would be a shortsighted move.

No I am only willing to give them one of their own picks and one of ours, FVV and Cam or Reed.

I am starting to come around on the idea of adding Durant, but I would not be willing to give them all of their own picks back. It may be that some of our younger core are too good to keep and we may not have this group together + a KD type player again. KD even at 36 is playing like a top 5 player, and you need a top 5 player to win it all. When the core gets older, we may be dealing with injury luck too in the playoffs, so if you have a chance now I think you go for it.

We absolutely would be competitive for the title with Durant. For the right price it would be worth it, but not for all the Phoenix picks. His contract is only for two years and he played over 70 games last year and is still playing great when healthy. He would be the closer we are missing. Amen, Jalen, Dillon/Jabari, Durant, Sengun is a great starting unit for the team that is currently 2nd in the West.

I am not all for Durant but I am all for dumping FVV so getting an asset of this caliber for him is worth it without giving up ALL of our draft picks. I want Fox but that ship sailed. Getting a definite Durant and being able to repackage the rest of our stuff later is appealing. If we could land both Fox and Durant sign me up. I wouldn't hate keeping Jalen if that was possible.

If we could get KD and Tyus Jones for Fred and Landale + return Phoenix picks I'd do that all day....

would love KD but at this point I am not trading anyone until the off-season. the vibes and energy are just too good right now and Fred is a big part of that culture.

KD doesn’t really do much for me, but let’s not act like he wouldn’t be a serious boost to our young team and a solid closer.

Its almost impossible to get a third team to take Beal because PHX has no picks or even swaps left lol. The other team has to pay assets for a 3rd team to take Beal's contract with no trade clause on top of what they're giving up already and thats just too much. Lile Heat trade Jimmy B to Suns well they dont want Beal. So they need to pay assets just to get a 3rd team to accept Beal? LOL no way.

Not sure who is more stupid Wizards who gave Beal that 5 yr max+ no trade clause or PHX who already saw that contract was horrible but still traded for him.

I agree. You add KD to this team and thats a serious contender IMO.

People are sleeping on KD too much IMO. Dude is the best scorer since Jordan and his game will last till he's 40 just like Lebron. The only issue is his health and his bad attitude.

I'm worried we bring him in and he starts being a headcase wanting to bring his own guys in or w/e. Getting Beal before and now Jimmy B was KD's idea. He's like Dwight to Lebron's Shaq.
