4.5% for #1 right now from the Suns lotto.

Pretty decent 20.4% chance at top 4.

Yeah there's no chance Flagg doesn't go #1. Not after what he's shown already. He's getting better and better, and Harper is starting to struggle now when they have to face tougher competition.

Are people sure this guy will be better than Christian Laettner?

    If so, why?

Well, it was a joke, but if for whatever reason, you constrain yourself to players only of the same school for comparisons, consider someone like Grant Hill (mixed with Moses Malone's sweat glands). :D If you want to consider someone not of the same school, a lot of people think he has some similarities to Scottie Pippen.

Flagg comps are somewhere in the Kawhi/Kirilenko/Pippen to Lebron range.
That size with elite athleticism, defense and length. Great passing and a fluid shot that is coming around.

I've seen Vecenie throwing around a comp of a Franz Wagner with a higher defensive ceiling due to the extra athleticism. I don't hate that comp as a conservative projection.

He has another thing going for him besides his prodigy type basketball skills. The kid is smart. He had a 4.0 GPA at Duke in the fall, and that's something a lot of athletes can't do, even at easier academic colleges. He will put in the effort required to learn and develop in the NBA, and has the brains to do it.

That’s probably low side, he would be one of the longest and most athletic guys at that size in the league though. Elite defensive potential

Yeah at the start of the season the comparison made more sense. Now, it feels closer to Flagg's floor (with all due respect to Wagner who is clearly the best player on the Magic). He really might become a superstar with the way he gets better every week as the season goes on.

Then, by all means, let's draft Khaman Maluach if we don't get Flagg, because he had a 4.0, too. :D 7-foot eleventy-inches tall.
