Charlotte is a small market team...they have to rely on their draft picks to hopefully grow to superstars! When was the last time you heard of a Superstar wanting to go to Charlotte??? Hence, for Lamelo's sake, they need to start building a competitive team around or he'll be the next player to request a trade out during his prime...not saying Beal is a Superstar, but he could flourish with a young core in Lamelo and B. Miller (if Charlotte doesn't have to give up draft picks to get Beal).
It would have to be something like CHA: Beal (PHX) + Richardson (MIA) + Burks (MIA) + $$$ (to possibly buyout Richardson & Burks) + PHX 2031 FRP + MIA 2028 FRP PHX: Butler (MIA) MIA: Bridges (CHA) + Green (CHA) + Williams (CHA) Losing Bridges would hurt CHA, but if CHA got enough assets / picks - they would prolly consider it. Would need to add a PF next year & barely be under 1st Apron https://www.spotrac.com/nba/charlotte-hornets/yearly/_/sort/cap_total/view/roster
They are building for the long term .... this year really feels like we are ahead of the curve but have a lot of questions to answer in the offseason. Really depends upon how you view FVV. Is he part of the future or not? If not the potential replacements in the offseason are questionable at best and then there's the financial constraints .... at most you'll have something around NT-MLE money if you go with cap space or the actual exception and still have to fill a couple roster spots with minimums - with Tyus Jones & Bones Hyland likely the best players you can afford.

Long term, no. Next three seasons in which there is a good chance the Rockets are pretty good, probably. I'd much rather have FVV than Jones or Hyland.
Charlotte is flush with picks. I don't see them wanting to tie up $ with Beal. If they want to add a vet there would be a lot better choices.
Would you? Dosunmu has had mixed results as a shooter, but he has improved dramatically as a playmaker and is a good defensive player. He can play either guard position. Cam clearly has more upside but is obviously unhappy with his role here and has been a bit of a hot mess this season. One thing to keep in mind is that Dosunmu is eligible for extension in the offseason, same year that Bari and Tari are. Obviously, we could let him go to RFA and see how that goes. Would probably depend on what him and Bari/Tari want numbers-wise.
I doubt either of them would cost more than MLE money and maybe less .... Jones has a better assist to turnover ratio that FVV and is a 40% shooter from 3 and not a bad defender. Hyland is a better shooter from 3, better Ft%, better defender and bigger than FVV - just doesn't have the assist to turnover ratio you'd like. Would be a great backup and probably wouldn't cost more than ~$5m per. Not a bad Shepard insurance policy. FVV hasn't earned his $$$ this year, he's been terrible offensively. I can't justify paying him $49m .... even if he took 3/75 deal, that could get in the way of extending someone else. I like Tyus Jones at 4/$60 much better than FVV.
I liked Dosunmu in the draft .... he's turned into a solid player, even with the inconsistent shooting. I don't know about playing the point. He's also out with an Achilles injury. Those are scary. I'd rather hang onto Cam. Heard something the other day that the thing with Tari was nothing, totally blown out of proportion and out of context.
