I know. He scores more and is more efficient on a tanking team where you think it's harder to put up numbers so ya Pole must be better than Sengun and by a large margin than the box score numbers indicate because Sengun is putting up numbers on a much superior team and Poole is doing it on a tanking team.
Jalen has been remarkably consistent, even against top defensive teams like Grizz or Celtics. Very impressive stuff he, Amen and Sengun have been tearing up enemies esp with FVV just focusing on D and taking a backseat.
I know. They should give MVP awards to the guys with the best statisical production on the worst tanking teams because they are putting up numbers on crap teams and like you said it's harder to put up numbers on crap teams.
Yup. You have to resort to sarcasm to avoid just saying "okay you make a valid point, maybe it's not easier to put up numbers on good teams instead of bad teams". But hey let's keep on being sarcastic to avoid you just having the slightest amount of charitability so we can protect your emotions.
It’s not something i’ve ever looked into so i have no opinion on it. Logically i would think it’s easier to put up better stats when you have better teammates. I would think it’s easier to put up better stats with sengun, a good player, vs sarr, a horrid player.
It must be easier to score with Jordan Poole than Sengun because Jordan Poole scores more and on better efficiency than Sengun and on a significantly worse team which makes it more impressive according to your logic. Let's protect your ego some more and do this sarcasm bit.
That's been my biggest takeaway from the season We all knew he could score if he played more under control. He was completely lost on the defensive end
I'm on other sports forums, this is the worst. Reactions being made game to game on a bunch of 19-23 year olds. But this is the only American sport forum I am on.
I grew up in European basketball and football (soccer) boards, so this is a tea party as far as I'm concerned. I think what you're detecting is that the uncertainty of having 6 x 19-23 yr olds opens the door for this instinct they have to go crazy. If you only take tanking teams (5% of teams), even within that category hardly anyone in NBA history has played this many kids this many serious minutes simultaneously. You have to recognize that it's a unique situation. The board has not always had 6 different types of "Only" fans. It used to be you're pro or anti harden. Pro or anti Yao. Etc. But in general yes I agree with what you're saying, what happens is not good.
I think people are not giving this fact enough credit when analyzing his inconsistent play. He went from a guy who focused almost all his energy on office to a true two-way player. Of course they’ll be some bumps on the road.
There are still bitter people who refuse to give him credit by passive aggressively saying something like "he's not a GREAT defender and he wasn't brought here to defend anyway" Hilarious given we brought in a coach who doesn't play non-defenders. As if his defense is not being counted in the net rating because some dude didn't expect it since 3 years ago. Jalen has been quite good defensively this season, especially for his archetype. Whoever was expecting better defense than this - even half as good - by age 22 was fooling themselves.
