League average shooting stats. Jalen's current numbers in paranthesis FG% - 46% (42%) 3PT% - 36% (33%) eFG% - .540 (.493) TS% - .574 (.539) If Jalen hits league average in any 2 of these stats at some point later this year, I'm going to at least start believing he's turned the corner, figured it, and contemplate him as a future numero uno. Until then, I'll just wait and see.
Been cooking cheap steaks pretty often at home lately--cheap supermarket sirloins, thin-cut chuck, stuff like that--and honestly I don't think there's such thing as a bad steak, just improperly cooked/seasoned steak. Maybe I'm just not that picky, but give me plenty of (but not too much) salt and pepper, a good well-seared crust, and anything under medium well, and I'm happy man. Sure, you can salt it and let it sit in the fridge overnight, reverse sear, baste in garlic butter, hell you can even dry age it if you're one of those mad scientist type of cooks, all that stuff can be even tastier. None of it's necessary for an enjoyable meal though.
For sure there is a less trivial way to judge? You could watch games. It's also arbitrary because this gets someone like Sengun off the hook even though his and Green's scoring efficiency in terms of ts% is the same. Fg% being higher for Sengun is purely a product of shot diet with Green being a perimeter player who takes a lot more threes. No point in analyzing fg% and ts%. If you have ts% then fg% is irrelevant.
You essentially said a gamescore below 20 isn't a good game... that was really dumb bruh and can be disproven very easy.
Haha idk why some of you think adults are bothered by people name calling like 5 year olds but you do you bud
My question to the green haters is, aren't you tired of bashing the same guy for so many years now? Like you know this is a pro green thread, why waste your time coming to it? Haven't you said all you needed to say about him? Just curious
Ive personally noticed that he seems to have slowed down his shot release (when he has the time)... seems more controlled and put more arc over the last couple weeks.
Psychologically and sincerely, the organization picks the players, fans can get behind it or not. At that time some were on the Mobley wagon or insert player name, and although personally was 60/40 due to bigs being injury prone, some players never grow on fans. I don't think it is a problem. Well, he had the talent to be an All Star right way and he also had the chance to be sort of an underwhelming player. Also felt like the conversations just arose and being forced rather than being organic. At least he is figuring things out in his 4th year. He stuck around and stubbornly got better.
The defense is 8.4 points worse per possession with Jalen on the court, which is dead last on the team. Last year he was 7.7, also good for dead last. He's almost 5 points worse than anyone else in the regular rotation. I'm not sure you want to bring Jordan Poole into this, considering he's currently more efficient on a bad team than Jalen ever was. And he was also more efficient on a good Warriors team than Jalen is now, or ever has been. And yes, Poole is currently having his most efficient season on a bad team, but that makes some sense considering natural improvement as he approaches his hypothetical prime.
Interesting to see as its a decent stretch of games. Is this just far enough back to include his March from last year? If post all-star Jalen is showing up a month earlier that would be huge.
Can you explain in your own words possible context that might suggest why a starter who still plays good defense doesn't show good on/off defensive rating? You're going to have to be charitable for once and not immediately think he sucks. Why are 90% of his most vocal detractors not willing to die on the hill you are about to? They can't deny it. Why can you? And with efficiency... Here is the scoring efficient of the three players on our roster who have the highest offensive usage and score lost off of their own self creation: FVV: 50% ts Sengun: 54.2% ts Green: 54% ts Is Poole a better scorer than Sengun? Poole is scoring not only a lot more efficiently than our precious Alpi but doing it on more volume. It isn't about good or bad team. Its about using some basic reasoning skills. What does this team's coaching staff ask of the players here that the.. check notes .. coaching staff of one of worst rated defensive team in league history in the Wizards doesn't ask that involves energy consumption and can effect stamina on the offensive end?
