Greenland wants to be independent and not overseen by Denmark. I haven’t seen anywhere where Greenland wants to be controlled by the USA.

It is interesting because the US had a lot of control over Greenland through the Danes when necessary. If Greenland becomes independent- there is nothing stopping them from doing business with China or others.

Half of liberals will be mortified and triggered ---- and half of the conservatives when alone in their house will say they wish Trump hadn't said it --- and I will be watching the classic troll job by the Michael Jordan of trolls.... pisses people off but Trump is one of the funniest people I have ever seen.

 

It's interesting to try and parse his thoughts. He keeps saying he wants Greenland for "national security" which makes me think he received an intelligence briefing on arctic security that made him think like a 1980s developer instead of a president.

Someone tells him legit information, he filters it through his brain, and out comes a troll response that echoes the the original source.

 

We should keep it the Gulf of Mexico because all that ever comes out of it are hurricanes and tar balls and seaweed on Galveston Beach. And we can continue to blame Mexico for both.

 

No - this would be a major US diplomatic blunder if this happens.

 

It’s sad isn’t it? It shows how different the leadership difference is between FDR and Trump.

 

I’ll say this - if somehow the USA ends up with control of Greenland, through purchase and buying off the people there or through an election …. I will give Donald Trump major praise for it. It is a strategic and mineral asset and it would do well if it did become the 51st state, but not sure that the people there want that… maybe give them $2,000,000 each and see if that persuades them.
