Nothing weird about shooting 3s and playmaking is the most common thing in the NBA lol.... I don't know why people get so sensitive but that is just the oldest theme. And with a great record comes great expectations for sure.....otherwise Sheppard could have gone straigth to the Wizards and a lot of NBA fans would just forget about him. It is weirder for grown ass men like you and others to hitch your emotional wagons onto prospects.
Seems to be developing Amen Thompson well…. Same with Tari Eason….Green is clearly better as an overall player as well. Udoka holds players accountable. It seems like a simple idea but most coaches don’t do it. That goes for rookies too. Look at the increased effort and focus compared to Silas. Udoka isn’t perfect and can be stubborn but he clearly is a good to very good coach.
Didn't know Sam said that but I'm not surprised. He looked incredible in Summer League and not just raw numbers or hot shooting, but the way he played. And he's struggled but it's a super tough situation for a player his age, at his position, and with his style of play. I wrote a version of this a number of times in the "bust" thread but I saw enough from him to not be all that worried. You can see rookies who clearly look like they don't belong on the court and Reed never looked that way to me between some of his steals, pushing the ball up court, passing, and his shooting mechanics. He didn't look like a Fultz, Thabeet, Bennett, etc. to me at all.
This is good for Shepherd I think he played off the ball at lot in college so him getting PG minutes with no pressure will let him play and get his confidence back.
Alpi got a lot better under Ime also. Last year on offense (just by being unlocked; he always had the skills), but especially this year on defense.
That tracks with the break out in Vipers schedule I laid out earlier in this thread. Three games and then back with Rox.
Who TF is this Reed Sheppard character? 49 points in his first Vipers game??? Why haven't we seen this guy play for the Rockets yet?
He needs to hoist up as many shots as possible in the remaining 2 Vipers games, 20 shots a game minimum, before coming back to Rox and reverting to 1/4 every game. Lol
Basically they missed the best timing to assign him to the G League - that was November/December. Fred/Aaron already played the most games (substantial minutes). Stone would be hell bent on risking it all if he traded them now. Too close to the deadline.
He has to do something that is special other than Defense. But his teachings have only effect if those players remember it playing for another coach otherwise it is a waste of time. It has to pass the Test of Time.
