He'll be sharing time in the backcourt with 5'10" Marquis Norwell. That might be the most diminutive backcourt in the G-league—lots of good practice.
Finally. He's not ready for the pros and it doesn't mean his future is busted. We finally just have infrastructure to build talent up before getting minutes. There are 30 games left for RGV this season if I counted correctly. He should be playing literally as many minutes as his body allows. 36+ every night, 1,000+ minutes await. He was a long-term play from the moment they announced the pick, just consider this a red-shirt season and count on some kind of contribution next season. Finish the season drinking from the fire hose in RGV, hit the offseason weight rooms, eat some KFC and come back ready to be a 20mpg rotation guard.
This may sound strange. But, he needs to learn to be selfish with the ball. Or at least make something happen when he gets the ball.
If Reed Sheppard develops in the G League quickly and gets in the Rockets Playoff Rotation than it is worth it.
This is my enduring fear about Jalen. There are guys like LeBron who are plenty smart and skipped college for professional reasons. But on the court and in interviews, Jalen just seems … dumb. He’s shown that he can increase his focus and effort, notably on defense. But when it comes to cognitive tasks like shot selection, he’s a demonstrably slow learner.
It's about damn time! When's the first game? Looking forward to watching him develop while the main crew continues to crush the league.
Nate Williams is beyond awful. Watch his absolutely pathetic summer league gunning performances. BRING BACK REED!!!!!!
This^^^. Coach is the problem more than Reed. Really he has played Green & Smith for years now there is no time for Amen or Reed. Playing FVV 40 minutes a night —> tired legs equals poor shootings. Circular logic
Post game interview demanding more minutes with the big club incoming nah. Reed is not built that way which is why he has a long career in front of him
