Shams and Fox both said had nothing to do with Brown firing. Fox approved of Brown thats why Brown got his 3 yr extension in the first place. Brown had dinner with Fox and his wife prior to the season and Brown told Fox he has to play defense. Fox agreed and Brown still got that 3 yr extension so you know Fox is ok with criticism. Rather than him it is likely Derozan who got Brown fired because Brown told him he should come off the bench.
smh, now the Kings want to win some games… y’all give it up for the newest Rocket Jimmy Tomball Buckets
Rox are no longer in a hurry to make any trades esp since the 2025 pick is 9th. Might be too valuable to give away esp if we get a lucky roll.
Yeah, I’m starting to think we should just keep the core together unless Ant or Luka become available. I don’t think Fox or even Booker would make us that much better to push us into being perennial contenders. They’re also like 27 and 28. They’re not getting much better or worse. Meanwhile, our core is still in their early 20’s developing chemistry. I know Jalen gets a lot of hate, but I honestly don’t think he’s that far off from being at least in the same conversations as those guys. He’s still very young and being molded under the perfect coach for him, playing the hardest he probably ever has with solid defense. We bring in book or fox, sure we’ll get a few more ppg, but they’d still have to buy into the system, which is defense first. All of our guys are already bought in. Booker shooting isn’t even that much better than Jalen’s this season, believe it or not. Ask a 28 year old that’s already susceptible to injuries to exert even more effort on the defensive end, shoot… he’d just might look worse than Jalen here. I think we’re as good as our young core develops barring a true upgrade for a superstar. I’m not willing to bet, but I’m hopeful that at least one of ours develops into that star, before one falls in our lap!
Giving up 3 young players under 23 and a 1st for a 27 yr old crypto scammer with attitude problems doesn’t sound ideal for us either…
Amen is already a star and headed for superstardom. Jalen still has star potential and is only 22. Sengun is a star having a tough stretch on offense. We don't have to do anything drastic if Ant or Giannis don't become available. We might hit on any one of the Phoenix picks or the 27 swap with the Nets as well. Our main objective should be to get FVV out of here and further develop our backcourt. Add some good role players (especially shooters). Next year's starters: Amen, Jalen, Brooks, Jabari, Sengun. Backup PG, Cam, Tari, Adams or Vucevic, high draft pick or Reed.
Having watched quite a few of their games, Booker being a playmaker is a bit of an exaggeration. Assist numbers or not. The vast majority of those assists are not Booker creating offense but hockey assists. He's moving the ball to the open guy and he has some great shooters around him, Booker is 7th on that team in 3p% with 4 dudes shooting .400 or better and two more above .375 ..... but that's not breaking down a defense and creating opportunities - that comes mostly from Durant's gravity .... Don't take this as me saying Booker isn't a good player, he's just not a 35% max guy and that's the contract he's on. He's a very good connective player but not the star of the show.
Nothing to see here.. Lock thread... punk ass Kings team wanna start winning and humiliating mfers now..
All Fox has over Green is a friendly whistle that appeals to refs paired with a lot more experience. Jalen will be where Fox was at 23. How is Booker 28 already? The internet must be wrong.
I actually wouldn’t mind keeping FVV if he signs a team friendly deal once we don’t pick up the team option; and he agrees to take a lesser role as a back up. He’s still a solid leader and pg that has chemistry with the group.
Fox steadily improved and was putting up decent to good advanced metrics every year; Green seems like he's basically stuck in the mud with mediocre efficiency and high usage and nowhere near the passing/creation ability of Fox. I wish Green had Fox's efficiency numbers at age 23 or 22, but he's a cut below which is what makes him a drag on the team so far. I really want Jalen Green to work out but, other than better defense this year, on offense this is him for the last 3 years:
It would be irresponsible to trade the 2025 pick at the deadline if Phoenix is still struggling. It currently has a 20% chance of being top 4 and a 4.5% chance of being #1. I realize those odds aren't high, but they're not nothing. We already moved up last year from a similar spot. Unlike last year, this year's draft class is loaded. Flagg, Harper, and Bailey look like they have star potential. If we pass up a shot at them to slightly improve our odds at competing this year I would be pissed. And I don't necessarily even want to build around another rookie, but if we move up again in this draft teams will offer a lot for the pick. We should just see how our current team performs in the playoffs and see how we can upgrade in the offseason. Our core is 23 years old and younger. What's the rush? Neither Fox nor Booker are top tier superstars that we need to go all in on immediately. If San Antonio wants to break the bank for one of them right now they can be my guest.
As far as this deep draft. If top 10, still very good. But after top 10, it's more like any other years. The deep part is the upper tier.
Fox had the ability to steadily improve on offense because he played on a below mid team at the same age as Green now. I don't think Fox would show this steady improvement on offense if for example from his year two to year three, a new coach that requires elite level of defensive effort with a high usage veteran championship level guard entering the mix was something he had to adjust to. What is happening to Green since Ime being his coach is good for his long term career path as he's being forced to condition himself to be a two way player but harmful to short term online discourse of him which is unfortunate but trivial in the grand scheme of things. Dude is huffing and puffing trying his all on defense and then is dribbling and taking jump shots after huffing and puffing going all out on defense. This is conditioning work and might take a season or two for a young guard like Jalen to adjust.
And you think the Kings are going to give up Fox without asking for more than FVV? If you start targeting some of the other players that makes the trade not worth it.
Honestly . . . I am good staying Pat I think Sengun and Amen will push Jalen to be better (along with Brooks) I think This Rockets team as of now . . .is kind of a poor man's OKC (I need to wash my mouth out with soap) We just need seasoning . . . . Rocket River
Yep, that’s the consensus of Vecine and the No Ceilings guys too. Good prospects in the lotto, but similar to last years draft after that.
