lol okay this right here shows your bias. I'm not even a LeBron fan. I just like pointing out hypocrisy in these debates. like I said in previous posts I believe Nikola Jokic is the goat but will never be considered cuz he's stuck playing with a trash team and has never once had an all star teammate. And my personal Goat will always be Hakeem. Until someone else wins a ring in Houston. Who I also think could have been or was better than MJ but he never had a supporting cast. I do know that Rookie Hakeem was actually able to beat Magic and Kareem and even Bird in a game in the playoffs. Something. Jordan never did. Maybe if Hakeem had better teammates he'd be in the conversation. Cuz he does have a winning h2h record versus mj.
He had a supporting cast... Stern made them a scapegoat for the NBA drug issues the same way Manfraud did with the sign stealing for the Astros. That being said... he may have saved the life of John Lucas
I also trust Jordan to pass to Paxon or Kerr when needed... and respect such players instead of crying to acquire Westbrick
What a weird game. The bench differential won it. The Lakers bench was basically crap and it cost them the game. Udoka pulled the right strings tonight.
Sure the one all star he played with got injured. (Sampson) Then he played with nothing for years and had to win a ring with Otis Thorpe being his second best player before we traded for Clyde.
This is once again hypocrisy and knocking someone for things out of his control. Bron's biggest knock to his goat claim is the fact that he got drafted by Cleveland but also he was just way too good too soon. By carrying those bad rosters to the playoffs they couldn't truly build a team around him cuz 1 no one wants to go to Cleveland. 2 they didn't have high enough draft picks. So things like Carlos boozer swindling the cavs management happen and he's stuck there with nothing. Sometimes you get drafted into good organizations aka Jordan and Curry. Sometimes you make your way to better organizations by forcing a trade like Kobe and Bron. But difference is Kobe did it on draft night so no one blames him for it. He coulda stayed in Cleveland and woulda won nothing because basketball is a team game and his team just wasn't ever good enough. KD joining the warriors would be like Hakeem going to play in Utah if that were to happen don't think Jordan would have 6 rings?
A good win without Jabari and Tari. Sengun will bounce back soon. Props to Steven Adams. I hope he will remain healthy. Jalen and Amen carried us to victory over a full strength Lakers team.
Lebron ran to every title he's ever had. MJ didn't. MJ changed the game. Lebron didn't. Lebron deserves credit for longevity but he's basically winning participation awards at this point. GOAT's change so many things about how a game or sport is viewed and perceived. Lebron never did that. If anything he just ushered in one of the most obnoxious super team eras that the NBA had to correct. Curry is much much closer to Lebron than Lebron is to MJ. I'd have Curry over Lebron personally. He actually changed and broke the game.
Well he did make the game softer with that "the decision" bullshit. he made running cool. he called it "player empowerment" but really it was him acknowledging that he wasnt good enough to win on a good team. he needed a big three to win and then still lost to the one allstar mavericks. he is nowhere near goat and im not even a jordan fan per se. Im just not a liar.
Literally burst onto the scene by making the game winner in the title game for Dean Smith. Also, would it kill the forum to be more positive after beating the #4 team in the conference down 3 of our 6 best players?
Jordan having the highest-ever scoring average and shooting the most shots checks out. I'm sure Stockton threw the most passes to get the most assists. It would be interesting to see what would have happened if Jordan shot as many threes as LeBron. That made a massive difference in LeBron needing fewer shots to pass Jordan. But it also would have been interesting if LeBron was a better free-throw shooter. Either way, there's no way you believe LeBron was the better scorer, so why even talk about this? BTW, I could just as quickly say Jordan would have had assist titles and triple-double records if he wanted to because he had around half a season of averaging nearly a triple-double with double-digit assists playing point guard. But we gotta deal with what happened. Nothing he is doing is hurting his legacy. However, the fact that the Lakers played better in lineups with Reaves and even better with Russell proves the media bias. According to them, LeBron is still an All-NBA level player. LeBron never left a championship-winning team, though, and his teams played the LeBron James system. Jordan was the reason the Bulls won championships, but the rest of the players, coaches, and the system were the reason they were good. If you remove a cog from that Bulls machine and replace it with another cog, no matter if one cog is diamond and the other tin, the machine could still run well. Getting within a game of the Easter Conference Finals and winning a Championship is the difference between having Jordan and not. That's a difference of 9 playoff wins. It's the opposite situation with LeBron and those Cleveland teams he left. Instead of playing in a system, he was the system... Instead of making the team a champion, he made them good... Instead of leaving a team intact, the teams lost coaches and players to other teams, and injuries.
Was a closer game than it needed to be in the last quarter.....but we saw Steven Adams return to Gorilla Form.
Really now? When LBJ is 40 we are having this convo........the Rockets are taking the hot hand. Jalen Green. Then Sengün, Amen, Fred.
His supporting cast was Ralph Sampson. Hakeem did something both MJ and Lebron never did which is win a ring with a bunch of role players.
Probably just recency bias but I found this game to be really encouraging. Yes we still had that 20 pt collapse but at least this time we recovered to put them away. The play of Amen and Adams is a really good sign. Ime should play the two more esp since Adams is basically saying he is 100% recovered. Green has also been putting together a nice stream of good showings. The best option might be to just ride this out for the year esp since Kings have been winning and PHX has been losing. Next game is a cake walk against the Wiz. Should be a nice buffer on that 2 seed.
