One of his most mature games. Not a fan of 12 3PA. On a normal shooting night from him, we lose when he shoots that many. But his drives to the rim and his defense have looked good as well as some of his mid range shots.

    The rollercoaster continues.

It was exciting to watch tonight. Lakers had no answer for him. Hope he can keep this up. Cause man, we’ll be hard to beat if he gets consistent.

I think one thing people forget was Jalen looked like a total bust this time last year. He couldnt play offense,he had bad defense, Ime would bench him every 4Q and the Jaters like Bobby had the time of their lives ******** on him every game.

The only reason Jalen's current average is similar to last year is because post All Star Break Jalen happened and bumped up his year averages, but if you compared the 1st half from last year to this year there is def an improvement esp from defense and scoring output.

    1st 35 games last year

    17.3/4.6/3.1
    53.4 TS%
    14.1 FGA
    4.6 FTA

    1st 35 games this year

    20.0/4.5/2.5
    53.5 TS%
    16.9 FGA
    4.0 FTA

Defense is definitely better this year but the stat averages aren’t much different between the start of this season and the start of last season. Almost identical efficiency just more shot attempts this year leading to slightly more scoring per game this year with slightly lower rebounds and assists per game.

    JH 1-34 2024: 17/4.6/3 40% FG 35% 3 pt
The higher defense but keeping the same scoring output is an improvement IMO.

I'm surprised the nos are close though wasnt Jalen playing so bad everyone was screaming to have him traded for Mikal Bridges? I also remember him being so unplayable he got benched in the 4Q every other game...

Question? And I hope you are honest. How did you think Jalen played last night?

Pretty wild you using the word honest when you look at those numbers and try to argue they are equal but he had a really good game. If i was like you though and had an agenda i would say he was terrible.

My agenda is to prove to you that you have to take STATS w/a grain of salt. Not saying that you can not draw some conclusion from them but you can not look at just stats and say, that's who a player is.

However, back to last night, Jalen and Amen, I thought had great games. Jalen had 33pts/ 5 rbs/ 4 ast and he was a -5. Amen had an equally impressive game and he was a -1.

So, if all you do is look at +/- you will say those two players had below avg games

Any statistic with a sample size of 1 is worthless. Obviously you need to look at large samples. You never answered any of the questions though. Do you think it’s possible that bpm, epm, and all of those metrics are wrong when it comes to sengun and green? Cause all of them are completely overwhelming.

Hes at 71.9% 0-3ft per bkref.

In the restricted area he is shooting 69.7% according to NBA stats.

Hes fantastic around the rim. He is elite in this regard, ranking 6th among guards with at least 100 attempts.

His problem is when he gets stone walled and cant get all the way to the rim. 40.4% from 3-10ft and 29.1% in the paint (non-RA). It continues into the mid range also where he shoots 31.4%.

His diet should be drive, drive, drive, drive...

The only stat that should matter is the W and the mins the players contribute. Folks with an agenda would use stats to sht on a player they dislike rather than enjoy the W.

The problem with a sample size of 1, is that it accumulates over a period of time, which the larger sample size are generated, correct?
That's why I have problems with stats in general, does that better answer your question?

Remember, the larger sample sizes comes from somewhere.

The funny thing about people proud that they are too dumb to understand how to use stats is that when those players they want to push ACTUALLY have good games, it shows in the stats.

According to the numbers, Jalen had a very good game, arguably his second best of the season overall. I was too busy to watch last night, so I didn't see it, but because I'm not one of these "proud to be a moron" eye test types, I can quickly determine overall performance just by looking at a series of statistics....and KNOW that what I come up with is fact, not opinion.

Unsurprisingly the "eye test" people almost exclusively push shitty but flashy players. It's essentially the level of analysis you'd get from a 10 year old.
