I want to love Jalen. I'm glad he is doing well. I think it will be better for us if he grows into the 1A player on the team. But for some damn reason I just can't believe in him as the long term answer for the position. Maybe it's because he mumbles everything and I'm surprised anyone can understand anything he says on the court. I don't understand why I am a Jalen "hater" I guess. I don't really want to be. That said, I wonder if Ime has his own biases against Jalen. Ime was a player who worked his way into his success. Something like FVV. I can't help but wonder if he has a bias against a player like Jalen who has probably always been everyones first choice from the playground to the pros. Ime was an underdog and I can't help but wonder if he has a thing for underdogs and a unconscious bias against frontrunners. Just a thought. Thanks to the Jalen supporters. You are helping me appreciate him. I'm a hater and I don't want to be. I hope he succeeds. But right now I hope more that he is the key piece in a trade to Sacramento or Phoenix in the offseason.
I think Jalen can be loose with his handle when he’s not locked in, but the way he’s being used right now is letting him play with confidence. Obviously a 4 to 1 turnover ratio is not sustainable, but I really think that Jalen is a better dribbler than he is given credit for
Jalen’s FT improvement is making more willing to be hopeful that his 3PT shooting will follow. If Jalen is a consistent 35% shooter he’s at least worth his contract, with everything else he’s already improved on.
There are teams that would take it. I feel like if we were to go after butler they would have to take fred.
Dude whats the agenda? Jalen (before this game stats aren't updated yet) had 82 turnovers on the season and only 85 assists. He leads the team in bad pass + lost ball turnovers despite having less than half the assists of both Fred and Alperen. If he's having a good stretch of games, thats great, we hope it continues. It doesn't mean he hasn't had problems on the season as a whole, and it doesn't mean people who have pointed that out have an agenda or are haters, or idiots. You've been here since 05, why does this need to be explained lol
Jalen avg 2.3 turnovers - how about you look up guards and tell me where he ranks .. and who ranks above him - folks would kill to have almost every player on that list Alpi avg. 2.5 Jalen hockey assist ratio is great .. what’s missing is the whole teams shotmaking ability which will improve the assist numbers so yes to mention his turnovers when he’s below players like Herro,Edward’s, etc etc and the same as Booker who people want to replace him with is stupid
That’s the problem with me. He has games like this for a stretch and I for some reason always feel like he might turn a corner and do this consistently. it’s happened almost every year except mostly towards the end of the season. After all this he’s gonna have a horrible stretch of games where I’ll want him traded.
It can be frustrating huh? Just remember something when you think this. Jalen Green is the same age many all time great in their rookie season (22).
Ime has been very much a JG supporter. Even last season when JG had the worst stretch of his career he never got removed as a starter.
I'm confident Ime respects Green. Ime has held Green accountable many games especially last season and he never complained and just put his head down and worked on what makes him get benched(major defensive lapses, not enough effort) I feel like a lot of high lottery picks in that situation would either cry to the media that they want to go to a new situation or fold and disappear into the background.
JG has a ridiculous FG 0-3 ft from the basket something like 70%. That rate is good enough to rank him with guys like Giannis and Ja Morant. The problem is Morant and Giannis know they are unstoppable when they drive and keep doing it whereas Jalen will start doing off balance mid range and step back 3s when he starts getting hot. Sometimes that works like tonight but most of the time he just bricks those shots Steph Curry he ain't. Not sure who is coaching him up but if I was Ime would remake Jalens shot diet to 80% drive 20% everything else. If Jalen does that he would be considered an all star imo.
The difference is Jalen is very coachable. He accepts criticism and tries to do better I think thats why Ime loves him. You are right when he kept getting benched in the 4Q he accepted Ime's judgement and tried hard on D and rebs.
I've been saying this for months, JG needs to have the ball in his hands, he needs to take over the PG Position
You’re almost entirely leaving assists out of the conversation here, short of mentioning hockey assists. Sengun is averaging 5 assists, on the same poor shooting team. Booker is averaging 6.6 assists per game (and 5ppg more), you can’t just say turnovers are the same, and people are idiots, right? You looked up these players stats it’s kind of hard to believe you didn’t see that. It doesn’t seem like there’s openness to have an honest conversation, just a desire to defend a position and win / be right. Too much politics for me.
I agree he needs the ball in his hands more but that doesn’t mean he should take over at PG. We still need our long term option at that position.
Alpi has the ball way more than Jalen, your slow arse acts like Jalen is supposed to be a PG , he’s a SG .. between Alpi and FVV it’s only so many assist to go around on this team , if Jalen drives and passes to Alpi who passes to a shooter for a score .. Alpi gets credit for the assist.. Watch the game and stop trying to find some reason to hate on JG game .. it’s quite sad at this point ..
