I see a move for Jimmy or other vets as simply upgrading the vets we have now, in FVV and Brooks. I'd seek to improve them while maintaining opportunities for the core young players, and, as much as possible, without trading them. These moves are purely for the immediate term of about 2 years. The hope is we get the internal growth over that period of time to make up for their inevitable departure.

If a Jimmy move requires a player from the young core, it's an easy no.

yeah I think he will want and try that, but as long as the acquiring team doesn't give up a ton, there's not a likelihood he gets max money. I don't want that team to be the rockets. even if we got him on the cheap, I think he'd mess with the locker room chemistry and in the off chance the team goes on a deep playoff run, that only gives him leverage to demand more than he should over the long term. I don't see a huge upside for the team, imo. Plus, he stiff armed us for the heat and made it clear he's from Tomball...so yeah screw him.
