SF are now PF and PF are now C

There are many exceptions, of course.

I think maybe the biggest reason that inside play declined in flopping
The Big Forwards of the past would have these guys looking like they were shot out of a cannon

The big PF would have also fouled out in 12 minutes, going by today's rules.

Flopping has been around a very long time. Remember Karl Malone?

Kemp could play, Hakeem could play...Mason/Mahorn/Thorpe/Willis-types? I'm not so sure

I guess Otis Thorpe probably couldn't play in today's league, or not much, but glad a bunch of us got to see him.

Otis grabs rebound, sets both elbows out parallel to the ground (everybody else is saying "i'm getting the **** out of his way"), palms the ball in his right hand, cocks it behind his head and throws a dart all the way downcourt to the streaking G (was usually Max) for a layup

eta: this was the only decent clip I could find

The big and tall small forwards went first. Think Anthony Mason, Detlef Schrempf, and Robert Horry.

Players like Thorpe, Willis, Mahorn, Mason, etc. could play center today. All but Mahorn (I believe) were as skilled as the big Europeans around the league minus Jokic and Sengun. I know Liambeer was as skilled and he was tough unlike the Euros.

One of the Davis's kid plays center for the Warriors and plays much like those guys. The other center for the Warriors that I believe started on their last championship is not skilled at all. Tristan Thompson made a ton of money and still plays because he can do things those 90s bigs could do in their sleep.

By the time you grow up, the NBA will have changed the basket to 6 feet high. The tall dude like Wemby won't be able to even see where the basket is.

Doesn’t seem like that long ago Detroit would play Josh Smith, Greg Monroe and Drummond on the floor at the same time
