Reed did not shoot in those minutes. He was scared to shoot. It's his fault.

 

It's ok to lose this game but I am just jealous watching the opponents often have good shooters and can hit 3s.

all those games Reed was getting 1st or early 2nd quarter minutes just to stand in the corner and do nothing or brick every shot the rare times he does decide to shoot

u can’t tell me rookie Jalen in that same situation wouldn’t have been able to have a few moments where he manages to pop off…u can’t tell me he’s going almost 30 games without taking a single free throw…u can’t tell me rookie Jabari wouldn’t have had a stretch where he’s making winning plays, playing D, grabbing boards, and hits a couple of shots

Reed just goes out there to do nothing

he had 5 minutes of garbage time tonight and took 0 shots

 

He is getting outplayed by Bronny James, the 55th pick in the draft. Thats why people are mad, cus he sucks ass.

 

As a Reed supporter, this really pissed me off.

Send him to the G league.

 

I would just say he is not a 3rd pick.....that was even obvious before where I thought the 3rd pick was too high for him.

Back then a lot of screamed good role player with Kyle Korver esque shooting......but yea.....

Seems Kentucky was just like the Celtics and could do anything to make their guys look good.

Payton Pritchard was like the 26th pick and he is shooting lights out, has nothing to do with draft position really.

 

No he isnt. Those other guys shot the ball better, Steve Nash shot 42% FG and 41% from 3. Brickpard shooting 38% from 2 and 28% from 3. Dont put them in the same class its an insult to Nash and the others.

I don't think it's a skills issue with Reed. Someone needs to tell him to play like a MAN and assert himself ffs. Send him to the G league and tell him you don't come back unless you dominate there. And once he does that, bring him back and tell him you better keep that mindset with the big boys also.

Reed needs to be a bit more like Cam, and I guess Cam needs to be a bit more like Reed...

 

He still played better than Brickpard so whats the fake news about?

Even if you took rookie Green and put him on the current Rockets he'd srill play more than Brickpard cuz he wouldnt average 0 in 5 mins and 1 pt in 18 mins

 

I watched this guy at KY....he could shoot the hell out of 3's. I'm not saying anything along the lines of it being over for him. I am surprised at him not having an impact. But, let's be honest about our offense too. We, for the most part, DON'T share the ball. If the ball goes in to Alpi he's taking it to the hole (and should)...but we don't go inside out hardly at all. 9 ASSISTS ...for the game...UNREAL.

Mostly however comes down with the ball SHOOTS it...little passing. FVV almost isn't serviceable anymore...the veteran calming presence he was supposed to bring isn't there anymore. Dillon has been much more successful in that role. Love Cam but wildly inconsistent and he absolutely isn't sharing the ball as a rule. Jalen could be that guy but is inconsistent (good tonight). Our spread offense with your forwards on the 3 pt. line are largely a waste...why ? because the ball is NOT going out as the middle is collapsed. If you stop Alpi inside, there is little threat outside. And physical bigs can make that happen vs. Alpi...he cant shoulder the whole team. Amen will help but we need a player that puts the bll up and isn't afraid to shoot.

 

In Reed defense them last 5min was played with CAM

 

I don’t know about that. Rookie Jalen had some very awful stretches. We’ll never know if Rookie Reed would’ve played better than Rookie Jalen but he definitely would’ve had the same amount of playing time on those trash teams.

 

Similar to Bari and Auburn.....College Ball is different, Kentucky are the Lakers and Celtics of College ball......

But those players are entering as nobodies into a much better league.

Playing on a semi contender is different than getting minutes on a bad team......sometimes it helps getting started on a worse team.

 

There’s just something I like about that guy…

 

There have been lottery picks that struggled to get minutes even on 20 win teams. Think of Johny Davis.

Jalen entered the league as an elite athlete who could create elite separation. The concept of Green struggling to get even a jump shot off like Sheppard is struggling with is something I find hard to believe hypothetically even. The ability to chuck up 20 shots that aren't blocked requires SOME level of talent
