Would not trade any valuable firsts for him and my biggest worry beyond that is signing him to an extension, or him getting really upset when we don't. I'd be cool if he wanted to take his player option for next year, I would not extend him beyond next season.

It'd probably push us to also finding a PG somewhere but in a vacuum I'd trade FVV and change for him in a heartbeat.

Should we be concerned Tomball Jimmie no longer has joy. :p

PHX and MIA are pretty dry in draft capital. This is concerning, unless KD rental or Booker to HOU (which I doubt right now), is HOU cashing in their picks already? This is concerning.

Who's he going to replace in the starting lineup?

Is he better than Dillon Brooks?

Stone's plans[Suns' picks] could be in shambles if Suns get Jimmy and dumps Beal

Unless he goes to Philly, I doubt @cyberx will have that much to tell?

Isn't only FVV's salary the only one that makes sense...?

    https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article297022954.html

With Golden State, the potential problem — from a Heat standpoint — would be taking on the final 2 ½ years of Andrew Wiggins’ contract that pays him $28.2 million and $30.2 million the next two seasons. One of many reasons that the Heat is more than $15 million above the tax line is that the team is paying between $19 million and $25 million a year for two players who aren’t All-Star-caliber: Duncan Robinson and Terry Rozier. Can Miami afford a third such richly paid non-All-Star, with Bam Adebayo already earning max money and Tyler Herro averaging $30 million in his contract?

With Phoenix, the Heat would have no interest in taking on Bradley Beal, who has durability issues and $160 million remaining on his contract. If Kevin Durant asks out, then the Suns would become a logical partner.

Houston has told people it won’t pursue Butler.

Dallas lacks the enticing pieces to make an offer.

So unless a surprise team surfaces — and that sometimes happens when stars are available — finding the right fit will be challenging, especially because the Heat loathes the idea of taking back inferior players, bad contracts and a bunch of draft picks in this type of transaction. Miami typically likes to get the best player back in any deal, and it’s difficult to envision that happening with Butler.

League sources told ClutchPoints that Dallas holds no interest in pursuing this scenario right now.

The same can be said about the Rockets, who are prioritizing their draft capital and young assets to make a run at a potential superstar who becomes available during the offseason. With a plethora of first-round draft picks moving forward, notably ones by way of the Suns, Houston is in a perfect spot to pursue the cream of the crop, starting with Kevin Durant if there is a fallout in Phoenix given their struggles. At this time, there aren't any indications suggesting that the Rockets want to pursue Butler.

If Durant wants out and have you have Butler's contract.... couldn't you just trade them for each other?

    At the appropriate time...

Butler to Hou doesn’t make sense on a multiple levels.

Assuming Ime would sign off on trading Brooks or FVV is wild

Then understanding the contract situation and age, Butler is looking to get paid at 36, it’s the whole reason he wants out.

Then understanding that Butler is a non shooting wing and that he’d have to replace Smith or Brooks in our starting lineup who are our best 3PT shooters on a team with horrific spacing and shooting efficiency.

Then understanding Miami is going to want value for him. Given all of the circumstances, why would we make a deal for him? What’s the game plan long term?
