I honestly never seen a player who hooks and travels more frequently. Harden did the arm hook on the drives and the 3 step gathers but I think Sengun gets “craftier” (gets away with offensive violations) more frequently lol
Segun fans are soft, then get softer when you call them out on it. Alpi doesn't need groupies defending him everytime he's getting coached hard. Cringe thread. Alpi is our future. He needs to chill with the looking at the refs with the indian hand flips. **** will backfire on him like with Luka. **** is soft.
There’s no reason to hate Alperen. Everyone simply wants him to grow and improve, and the main reason for this is that people recognize his immense potential. Racism or similar attitudes are childish matters. He’s a good man, loved by everyone and someone who shows love to others. Let’s not forget: when he first arrived, he couldn’t even form a sentence in English. He came from a completely different culture. He struggled defensively, had significant deficiencies in athleticism, and struggled with foul issues. Yet, through his basketball IQ and relentless desire to improve, he proved himself in a challenging environment and became a player the team could build its future around. Recognize how fortunate we are to have him and let him lead our young team full of great characters. We have energetic young players who play with their hearts, and Alperen is the perfect leader for them.
Statistics vs. The eye test. They both matter and one without the other can be extremely misleading. This is why people like to cherry pick stats to back up an argument. And even IF you're watching the games with an objective eye, if you don't understand what you're seeing it's going to be tough sledding. A few examples: QB "X" is great because of his passing yard totals. Disregards QBR, interception percentage, decision making, bad sacks, etc. And never mind that the team has to air it out 75% of the game because they're always behind. Sound familiar? Here's one a little closer to home - Christian Wood. Statistically a good player, right? A novice basketball fan in the 90s: "Why doesn't Hakeem shoot it when he's wide open?!?" (from well behind the 3pt line). Statistics are very valuable but they don't always tell the story. Especially if you don't know how to put them in context. Before metrics took off and everything was available online you had to know the sport and pay attention to the games.
I have said this for years. It’s not just the stats it’s the metrics, which are highly subjective and limited in themselves. So in essence metrics are to be taken with a grain of salt and need to be accompanied with context and analysis including questions. “Why is player X not scoring in the paint?” “Why has team offense struggled to score past 10 games?” So multiple measurements along with physically watching games on the basis of knowledge is needed to make a conclusive assessment.
