Finally started watching after putting it off. Colin needs to win every award he's eligible for :D

The acting overall from all characters is amazing and it's as realistic a world as you can get for a comic villain series. Still watching but this is a true classic so far.

Binge watched the series, deserves a second post. :D

Wow, Lauren LeFranc, Colin Farrell and the creative team walked in the door and created a masterpiece.

Big Batman fan and that was some of the best work I've seen in years, and ranks high all time as a series period.

If that whole creative team worked on The Batman II with Colin and took their time I wouldn't be mad at all.

Yeah, they raised the bar with this one. The series didn't seem like it had to come from a comic book.

I guess it allows you to suspend some belief over how much of a psycho Penguin could be and add some more over the top violence, but otherwise the characters and the actors felt lived in for the most part.

Yes, totally agree. His profile was of real criminal psychology, compartmentalization, lack of real empathy, narcissistic. He actually believed his own lies which made him extremely convincing to others. He actually was sad and meant what he said when apologizing at times but would kill or abandon relationships if it didn't serve his needs or ego with no remorse.

He left His mom as a vegetable and killed Vic, saying to his mom 'I know, It's what you always wanted' and 'It wasn't all for nothing' to Vic, but both times he was subconsciously talking to himself. Pure sociopathic evil, just genius writing.

Finished it yesterday. So strong. Great plot, fantastic acting, and man what an ending.

It was strange finding myself rooting for Oz or feeling sorry for him as an underdog, yet he was such a bad person and shown in the end which should remove any doubt.
    Really well done

That's how you write a story with the villain as the main character. Not whatever Sony was trying to do with Spiderman villains. You can do it without necessarily turning the bad guy into a hero.

This. You saw Oz do terrible things leading up to the last couple of episodes but you may thought he had some redeeming qualities or maybe he was a bit misunderstood or overlooked......

I thought they were gonna take the Breaking Bad route and make him an ambiguous anti-hero.

That last episode drew clear lines that didn't need to be taken, which I think was to build him up against batman.

Perfect use of a TV mini-series to hype a villain many people associate with Danny Devito or a rando 70's kid show baddie.

When people ask why most D+ Marvel shows are garbage, use this as an example and proof of better writing making a difference.
