NYPD: MIDTOWN STABBING SUSPECT CAME FROM MARYLAND TO KILL BLACK MEN IN NYC

    Eyewitness News
    Thursday, March 23, 2017 04:14AM
    MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) --
Police said the man who surrendered Tuesday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Midtown Manhattan traveled to New York City with the intent to attack and kill black men.

Authorities said 28-year-old James Harris Jackson, who is from Maryland, walked into the NYPD substation in Times Square and announced he was wanted in the stabbing of a 66-year-old man that happened 24 hours earlier.

"You need to arrest me," he reportedly told officers inside the substation. "I've got the knife in my coat."

Investigators said two knives were found in his possession -- and the murder weapon is believed to be this 26-inch mini sword:

Detectives believe Jackson has a hatred of black people -- specifically black men. He allegedly wrote a manifesto about attacking African American men on the laptop computer he brought with him to New York City.

Ironic that's he from Baltimore of all places. To paraphrase from The Wire, he's a white man from a city that's not.

There is something insane about surrendering to police out of the blue for premeditated murder. A sane person would have fled to Mexico.

I think on the insane scale.... murder ever-so slightly outranks confessing to murder. I mean, it's close!...

Well....he was alone and he is crazy. I'm not sure why you think that would somehow mean he's not also a murderer and a terrorist.

We shouldn't give him the infamy he desires. Lock him up in prison. He'll get his karma.

RIP to the victim. That's what the story and headline should be. "Timothy Caughman killed in hate crime by crazy guy" and it should be more about the victim's life than the crazy dude's motives.

Not sure about that one. Baltimore County has a few wealthy areas, but Maryland's designation as "the richest state" is overwhelmingly due to Montgomery County in the DC suburbs (Chevy Chase, Bethesda, Potomac, etc.)

Sure, DC and Baltimore are close - but economically, they're completely separate.

Ah I see where in the Bible he got his killing ambitions from.

    Some deep **** there.

Yea during the London attack, British media spent more time focusing on the victims and their family than the actual attacker. I wish our media would take note and properly focus their headlines on the real victims in this tragedy.

That's the way it should be. These terrorists don't care about their personal life. Rather, they want their message heard. Don't give them that platform, similar to how sportscasts shy away from showing streakers. The ones that should get the spotlight are the victims. Leave the profile and motives to the investigators.

Prosecutors say 150 pipe bombs found at Virginia man’s home in what could be FBI’s largest-ever seizure of explosive devices

    By Holmes Lybrand, CNN
Published 7:14 PM EST, Tue December 31, 2024

Prosecutors are fighting to keep a Virginia man behind bars after they say investigators found what could be the largest number of “finished explosive devices” in FBI history at his 20-acre home near Norfolk.

The man, Brad Spafford, was arrested earlier this month on one charge of possessing an illegal unregistered short-barrel rifle. During the arrest, the FBI – including bomb technicians – executed a search warrant on his property and found a stockpile of more than 150 apparent pipe bombs, which were x-rayed on the scene, according to prosecutors. Some were allegedly marked “lethal.”

Prosecutors say the pipe bombs were found in a backpack, a detached garage, and that a few “were preloaded into an apparent wearable vest.”

In court filings arguing that Spafford should remain jailed, prosecutors allege that Spafford used pictures of President Joe Biden for target practice, “expressed support for political assassinations, and recently sought qualifications in sniper-rifle shooting at a local range.”

After the assassination attempt on President-elect Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, prosecutors wrote that Spafford “stated that he hoped the shooter doesn’t miss ‘Kamala’” in an apparent reference to the vice president in communications with his neighbor.

The investigation into Spafford started when his neighbor reported that he was allegedly stockpiling weapons and homemade ammo and had lost three fingers on his right hand in 2021 working with a homemade explosive device, prosecutors say.

In a filing Tuesday asking for the release of their client, Spafford’s attorneys noted he was only charged with a single count of possession of an unlawful firearm, that there is no evidence Spafford ever used the weapon and that he has no criminal record.

His attorneys also wrote that “professionally trained explosive technicians had to rig the devices to explode them” and that there was no evidence that he had the ability to explode the devices himself.

“The government argues that Mr. Spafford should be detained because he poses a danger to the community in spite of the fact that the government has been investigating and carefully watching Mr. Spafford for approximately two years through the use of a confidential human source who was a friend and confidant of Mr. Spafford,” his attorneys wrote. “During all of that time, there is no evidence or allegation that Mr. Spafford committed or attempted to commit any act of violence.”

His attorneys also said that using the likeness of a political leader at a shooting range is “common practice” and that his alleged “ill-advised comments about the government and political leaders” are constitutionally protected.

What do the two New Years day domestic terrorists have in common? A lot, and those two Army soldiers and Americans can't be blamed on border crossings and illegal immigrants. That's a fact.

    https://www.the-independent.com/new...rtuck-explosion-las-vegas-trump-b2672787.html

Fact: Mass shootings, school shootings, and gun violence are big problems in this country as well. Guns are the leading cause of death for Americans children.

On the campaign trail, Trump has taken every opportunity to double down on his loyalty to the gun lobby’s extreme agenda and insisted Iowans “get over it” when parents were still grieving the loss of a child. But as president, Trump teased mass shooting survivors with false promises of reforms before getting on the phone and taking orders from his gun lobby donors.

Trump refused to close loopholes that would keep guns away from those intent on carrying out unfathomable acts of violence in our schools and on our streets. Earlier this year, he proudly claimed that he “did nothing” to combat gun violence while he was in office.

When Donald Trump was president, he made the deliberate choice to protect gun industry profits over this country’s children.

    https://giffords.org/memo/theres-no-debating-trumps-failures-on-gun-crime/

    What's not a fact?

Most of the words out of Trump's mouth.

"With the Biden “Open Border’s Policy” I said, many times during Rallies, and elsewhere, that Radical Islamic Terrorism, and other forms of violent crime, will become so bad in America that it will become hard to even imagine or believe. That time has come, only worse than ever imagined. Joe Biden is the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA, A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER. What he and his group of Election Interfering “thugs” have done to our Country will not soon be forgotten! MAGA"

“I want to send our support and our deepest sympathies to the victims and families touched by the terrible school shooting yesterday in Perry, Iowa,” Trump said during a campaign rally.

It's not a fact that we need to just get over it when children are gunned down in schools.

“It’s just horrible, so surprising to see it here. But have to get over it, we have to move forward,” he added.

Facts: No orange man, it's not surprising to see school shootings in this country. We lead the world, and it isn't even close. No, Joe Biden is not the worst President in history. In fact, Trump is the one who has been ranked the worst in many polls. The poll surveyed 154 presidential historians who are current and recent members of the American Political Science Association ranked Trump the worst. There was no election interference by Democrats. Trump lost. You can't trust a pathological lying con.
