Incompetent Udoka has the team 3rd in the West and has instilled a winning culture. Maybe he knows what he's doing. Someone is just unhinged cause the player he hyped up all summer long hasn't done anything in the NBA (Reed)
I might be that Whitmore expected more meaningful minutes in the second half after the work he did in the first. He might have ended up going for 30 points. Anyway, Whitmore, along with Tate, is getting minutes now because the Terror Twins are both temporarily deactivated. When they come back, he might see his minutes shrink again. Even if Sheppard is sent to the G League, it won't help Whitmore's minutes. IIRC Udoka did say that he is treating this as Whitmore's rookie year along with Sheppard, so the minutes are going to fluctuate. Until now, I thought he's been great about it. He's just going to have to stay focused somehow and whenever the opportunity arises, keep showing his value to the team. But it's gotta be a tough process, especially for a young and ultra competitive guy like Whitmore.
Why is that weird? He did everything great and Ime benched him the whole quarter lol. He plays 20 mins FVV plays 42 mins and you think thats weird?
Well at least we don't have to wonder if Cam would be saying this after a good performance. You know how most **** usually comes out during a negative outcome. Sure he got minutes tonight, but at the same time he doesn't really have a defined role. If he doesn't play well in the 1st half, he is unlikely to play in the second half. As a young 20 year old man with a huge ego that's still maturing, he is going to be pretty frustrated. He's probably wondering why Reed hasn't been sent down to the Gleague. Or why Vanvleet gets to play heavy minutes despite hurting the team. He's a frustrated young man that still has a long way towards maturing. He may never mature. He is an explosive, fun player to watch so hopefully the Rox just keep working with him.
The goal should be winning a championship, not being 3rd in the West in January. The way Udoka runs things will have the team crashing out in the playoffs and will harm the future. I know that may be hard to grasp, but he seems like a basketball version of Dusty Baker to me.... and the Rockets aren't the 2022 Astros, the only team so absurdly stacked with talent they could win despite Dusty. That's why I'm frustrated. That's why I understand Cam's frustration. I had to sit through that moron Dusty playing Martin Maldonado over Yainer Diaz... and now there's a basketball version.
Can is one of my favorite players on the Rockets but he can’t go saying this kind of stuff to the press. I think he could be (or is) a better player than Jalen Green. The only 2 glaring differences between Cam and Jalen are… 1. Patience 2. Attitude
Cam doesn't seem to fit into or buy into the teams mantra of "sometimes you, sometimes me, always us."
That was disgraceful. Cam is an idiot. Previously after he played like a chump early in the season, I said it was very doubtful the Rockets would trade him this year. After watching his on-court postgame chat with Vanessa and seeing this locker room interview, he's probably a goner. There is something wrong with Cam between the ears. This is bizarre behavior.
