The tornado in rural brazoria county Saturday missed us by less than a quarter mile. Got lucky!

Quite unfortunate the astrodome wasn't hit.

Y'all ready for the freezing temps week of January 6th (maybe closer to January 10th). To go from torandoes to freezes is pretty crazy.

I’m ready. I want a few days of cold weather before summer heat returns.

Snow maps have been fun to look at the past few days. This is the midday Euro and GFS.

Can't speak for Houston, but the low in the Hill Country that week is projected at 29 for about 2 hours on Tuesday night. Hope you swampers have wrapped your pipes!

Still with silly Texas snow totals but the 12z GFS keeps Houston too warm for snow. And yes, that's in inches.

As long as the temps stay in the 20's or higher in DFW, I'm ok with it. Pipes shouldn't be bursting with a few hours of upper 20-degree weather (hopefully... damn, now I've jinxed myself). Also no snow, please! Hopefully the Houston area doesn't get down to the 20s.

I haven't even turned my heat on yet. Guess I will have to next week finally.

From my recollection, Dallas-Fort Worth area used to get a snow or ice event starting in November. That doesn't seem to be a thing any longer. lol

Today's 12z GFS. How fast can you central Texas or just north of Houston folks order snow shovels on Amazon?

12 hours ago the GFS dumped the snow over Houston:

Because I spoke it into existence the forecast has changed a bit...mid 20s Monday and Tuesday mornings but the temp warms up both afternoons.

This forecast will of course change again between now and then.
