Hopefully he's the next Taylor Scott. So I assume he's the relief pitcher Brown said they were looking to add. Hopefully the left handed OF won't be the equivalent to this pitcher.

*looks like minor league contract with invite to Spring training.

Makes more sense now knowing it’s a minor league deal with a ST invite

So $1.5 mil to be another Montero? Better than paying Montero money

Our lefty OF will be Dylan Carlson. Or Bryce Johnson because he hits righty pitching at .242 vs .167. Mark me!

I'm guessing they see something they like in the underlying data worth taking a better look at, because his actual results look like a pretty big waste of time.

    Saw this on The Athletic.

Kyle Hart hasn’t pitched in the major leagues since 2020, but a handful of clubs have expressed interest in him as either a back-end starter or multi-inning reliever after the lefty seemingly revived his career in South Korea. After languishing in the minor leagues the previous couple of seasons, Hart elected to sign with the NC Dinos of the Korean Baseball Organization last winter.
In 26 starts (157 innings), Hart, 32, had a 2.69 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 182 strikeouts. In South Korea, Hart pitched more off his fastball, which allowed his slider to act more like a chase pitch. At the start of the offseason, FanGraphs ranked Hart as its No. 48 free agent.

The Yankees, Brewers, Twins, Astros and Orioles are among the teams that have indicated interest, league sources said.

They think they may be able to help him put it all together… they sign or bring in 3-4 of these guys every year and see if any of them improve under Astros pitching guidance.

I wouldn’t read too much into this- it is zero risk.

Joc is on his 6th team since 2020. He overestimates his importance.
