The problem with stress reactions in a tibia that was surgically repaired is that it is not entirely easy to predict how long it will take. When it feels "sore", this could be a warning sign that there might be risk of a stress fracture if not given enough time for the bone to rest and recover.

I had a tibia nail (metal rod) in my leg and unfortunately, staphylococcus developed and I had very strong systemic reactions, super high fever, had to take extremely strong antibiotics for a year until the rod could come out (they couldn't take it out sooner because the bone hadn't healed).

Really messed me up.

Anyway, long story short, I personally don't believe the Rockets are lying.

 

The only thing I think they should've done differently is call it lower leg soreness, as opposed to "injury management." Because management gives the implication that the absence was strategically planned. It's pretty clearly unplanned due to soreness that unexpectedly came back.

That said, I do think Ime has been very transparent with what he knows and what the org's position at this time is.

 

AKA...they are once again not being up front about it. After Tari was out for basically half the season last year, it's annoying they are once again going down this path.

 

Tari has the basketball disease. For the love of god, protect this man from himself
