Don’t forget he also turned down 55/year from sac, so if you trade for him you’re committing to a full 5 year 30% max. I would consider that to be a complete albatross for a guy who will never sniff being a top 20 player.

no, their games are not equatable beyond being ‘different from the usual’ and effective.

That means to me they could mesh. It would be up to them.

I would say no to Fox.

The two teams are similar in composition.

    Kings........................Rockets
Sabonis....................Sengun [ about the same, Sabonis around 40% from 3 but low quantity ]

Fox............................VanVleet [ V v a year later, looks slower and not efficient because
    ..................................of lack spacing ]

    3P%............................3P%
    Kings (24th)..............Rockets (28th)

Kings were 16th last year and had Murray and Huerter shooting 40% (3P%) or better [ in contention]

Kings are 24th this year and Murray is shooting 31% and Huerter 30% (3P%); added DeRozen
who is known for bogging down teams because of lack of 3-pt shooting. [ Not in contention ]

    _________________

Summary: adding D Fox and removing either VanVleet or Jalen Green doesn't move the needle.
It just adds to the congestion in the paint. Rockets would count on Holiday and Jabari to
provide most if not all of the spacing. Dillon has been known to be streaky.

People need to remember to adjust offensive stats for potentially star players you guys want to trade for. There has to be a Ime conversion formula to estimate what a potential star player's offensive numbers and efficiency would be if they went to the Rockets under Ime.

Ime does not follow the "high usage offensive players get to take some rest on defense" philosophy. He's going to make Fox, Booker... whoever it is try on defense like they've never tried before in their entire careers.

I'm not that big on Fox, especially considering what they'd have to give up. If he happens to sneak into All NBA third team, he's due a supermax, right? Is he really who we want to commit that spot to? And in a trade, he's probably going to take two core guys and a load of picks? If you can do it for FVV and Green, I'm listening. Otherwise, I think I'm a pass.

I'm more in the rent a Butler/KD camp to be as competitive as possible now while continuing to develop the core.

I'm good on Fox. Nothing of him sticks out to me. And he's also not a pg, stop that narrative

Honestly Amen Thompson Starting and Cam Whitmore Points off the bench playing Fast Pace open the Fast Tempo over Dillon Brooks Ball Hog Iso, Slow Half Court Style.

Jalen Green looks way efficient with Amen and Cam on the Floor instead of Dillon Brooks stopping Ball Movement.

It is forcing Fred VanVleet to play Fast pace, with Jalen, Cam, Amen.

At this point in the season I would rather just stick with our guys and see how far we can go .. I have been impressed and I hope to see continue improvement ! If I was to trade for someone it would be fox but let’s just keep it rolling ! I know I said trade Jabari if we did make a trade but I take that back ! I love his play this season and his improvement has been amazing

I just hope Fox doesn’t go to the spurs .. that would be a huge pick up for them if he went there

This team being 21-9 with FVV shooting 27% from three is just mine boggling.

This team shockingly can be so much better if FVV normalizes to his career three pt percentage.

So much head room for this team to even be better. Second half Jalen Green hasn't even arrived yet also.

Man I wonder how many people thought 60 wins was in the cards this season. I don't want any trades. This team has a legit chance to win 60 games with the second youngest team in the league adjusted for usage rate with the youngest team in this metric being the Wizards. This team isn't supposed to be this good with this many young dudes with such major roles.

No trades that involve the young guys. If you want to trade Brooks or Tate that's fine. No disrespect to those guys. Both have been important culture setters for the young dudes but the team is nearing the point where their services aren't needed anymore.

Yeah our record being this good, while the Kings are down bad is not something that should be. I would’ve expected us to be more in their position record wise than the other way around. Especially if you would’ve told me about our offense, the 3pt percentages of our team, FVV & Green’s struggles, injuries a bit, Adams a lot of playing time, Cam not playing well, Reed having issues adjusting etc.

I want a trade for a shooter. We have picks and swaps available. Adams and Unc Green are expirings. Combined they give around 20M in capspace.

Cam Johnson or Duncan Robinson or even Tyler Herro.

Fox fouling on a 4 point play and no timeout for a Full Court Shot.

And Tatum was in his fifth season. Green is in his fourth. He's also seems to be picking things up and he's usually a second half player stats wise. So I can see Green by the end of the season being around a 22 ppg scorer on around 56% ts in his fourth year on a ~55 win team in the West vs Tatum a 5th year player averaging 27 on 57% ts on a ~50 win team in the East.

No reason to trade for a player that you lock in with a giant contract. Fred is a team option next season and gives you room if something pops up. You want to trade for Fox to contend? Does adding Fox help Rockets beat Thunder if they play each other in the playoffs? The answer is no. And now you have no cap space going into next season. Let it ride and have them going into the post season with a vet that has championship experience. The win a round then it's a huge win in my book this season. They already have blown away my expectations for the first 30 games. I came into season hoping that they could win 15-16 games and be in 7th-8th spot at this point. Keep the team they way it is and look for a shooter to add. Send Reed to G league. Package Tate, Jeff Green, and maybe Cam if the person is worth it.
