The O-line unequivocally and indisputably SUCKS. Bobby Slowik unequivocally and indisputably SUCKS. CJ Stroud also, this season, SUCKS. And what's worse is they synergistically suck...each one's suckage makes the rest look even worse. CJ makes his O-line suck even more when he can't audible or change a play to help them out. The O-line makes CJ suck even more when they matador defenders. Slowik makes the O-line and CJ suck more with predictable and moronic play calling. CJ makes Slowik look even worse when he misses wide open receivers that stall potentially scoring drives. The offense is a dumpster fire and it has been since the jump.
When does he have time to adjust the protection - Slowik gets the play in so late we always snapping under 5 seconds Yes he does takes bad sacks trying to make something happen and not throwing the ball away is one of the things I believe everyone wants him to work on He could also work on taking some checkdowns earlier vs trying to make a play (living for next set of downs is huge but you don’t want him to become a checkdown King either)
So now more excuses.... sorry, those are only needed for scrub tier players. Stroud has been better than this so its clear that he's just screwing up. Stroud is piss poor at spotting and adjusting to the blitz this season... when he has time, when he doesn't have time... doesn't matter. It just doesn't seem like he stayed in his grind after his rookie season success.
Is next season CJ's contract year? I WOULD NOT sign him to big long term contract if he continues to play like he has this season. He has consistently looked awful, and his after game interviews are even worse. Zero fire. Never challenges the team. Always a wimpy Q&A. I would love him to get mad, call out himself and his teammates. Breathe out some fire. I would like a line like this, " I promise you there won't be another game like this last one. We will get it together and give the fans our best," or something even more demonstrative.
Is Brady still mentoring C.J or is that no longer allowed because of his ownership stake with the Raiders?
May not be as absurd as you think. He has to put in the work instead of being on a celebrity tour. This season has been awful. It is not all his fault, but he just hasn't lived up to expectations Coaching is a problem. Play calling is a problem. Offensive line has been a problem. Receiver injuries have been a problem. But, he has been a problem too.
