If you look at the players that ESPN lists below him with those same odds, they are not that much better. Maybe Jaylen Brown, but the others don't really stand out. Try and list who the top 20 players are in the league, you will get to a point where Alp is pretty much in that range.

    https://www.espn.com/espn/betting/s...tting-odds-favorites-jokic-doncic-sga-giannis

That list pretty much has the top 25 or so players, Alp is better than Trae Young, Lillard and arguably better than Harden and Kyrie, and a handful of others. If you look at a most 2021 re drafts, Alp is #1 and Cade is 4th, so you can say Alp is better than Cade as well on that list. I think a lot of people are still thinking we are in the prime Lebron era with names like Carmelo and D Wade and CP3 etc always being in all star games and being top players, but that era is done with. There really are not that many top tier players in the league better than Alp. Who would you add to that ESPN list that is clearly better than Alperen? Paulo? Embiid? Who would you say is the 20th and 21st best players in the league? I guarantee you there will not be a big gap between anyone you come up with and Sengun.

Personally I am valuing availability as a major factor in if a player is top 20. You will see lists with Kawhi and Joel Embiid and Paul George, a lot of those lists are based on their past performance and their big contracts. If Harden and Kyrie are truly far and away much better players than Alp, I find it hard to believe when these teams were not willing to throw a full max at them.

Don't forget that the Rockets have unprotected swap rights in 2027 with the Nets (and the unprotected PHX pick in 2027).

They gave us all those PHX/Dallas assets and it bought them a two year window. They have this year and next to be bad ....

Basically they need to get Flagg and reboot around him. To be fair, they are in brilliant shape to retool if the lotto balls fall their way. If not, a little bit screwed. Gm Marks is good though.

If I'm them, I would take a flyer on Zion. New scenario. New diet. Sit the rest of this season (for tanking) to get healthy.
They can offer Simmons and a stack of picks

Those picks owed to the Knicks are fairly well protected, I doubt either conveys.

You are right. I just looked at Fanspo and saw that neither showed a 25 pick for either one. Now I see their methodology I won't use them as a source in that regard anymore. I don't know why Detroit wouldn't tank again for a shot at Cooper and it's a really good draft class. On another note, we might not have the best draft assets in terms of quantity (OKC), but our draft assets are high quality. It's going to be really interesting to see what we can attract if Phoenix is a lottery team. Phoenix is really totally screwed if they really are set against trading Booker. What were they thinking with Beal?

Desperate owner getting in the way of basketball operations. It was a really dumb move considering that it limited their ability to actually build a team due to the 2nd apron rules. Stone made a good deal with those Brooklyn picks. After the Suns hot start early this season, I really have a hard time seeing how they get better considering the limitations for them to trade players.

So, if the season ended now, we technically would have a late lottery pick (since Suns are 12th worst team) in the upcoming draft, right?

Would be justice to finally get the # 1 pick with Flagg coming out. What a loaded team we would have then.

Flagg hasnt looked that impressive so far. If we got the 1st pick, would definitely shop it for another star. Exercise FVV option and combine his expiring with the First pick to get a star. Maybe FVV Landale and Flagg for Scottie Barnes and Poetle

I'm enticed to see who's available at that draft slot. There's a lot of really good players in this draft. I like Flagg but there's something about Dylan Harper Jr that I would consider trading up for

Along with Harper Jr I also like Ben Safar from Israel and the Lithuanian kid from Illinois with the initials JK

Honestly at this point, I don’t trust the development of young guys under Ime. He’ll play then if they have some defensive prowess but offensively I don’t trust that of thing with Ime. Most of our main rotation is struggling with inconsistent offensive performer. Jalen, Reed, Cam, sengun are all struggling to be consistent. FVV is having the worse season of his career shooting.

At this point we can’t trust Ime and his staff with the development of our young guys on offense. I rather jsut trade for a two way star. I’m tired of the disappointment of Ime and his staff with the development of our core

That would be the most incredible outcome especially after we finish a 65 win season and a trip to the WCF.

It's just Dylan Harper. His father is Ron Harper not Dylan Harper. Ron Harper Jr is his older brother.
