Sit down for this because this will probably shock you from the way you are discussing scoring efficiency.

Jalen Green and Alperan Sengun have the same scoring efficiency for the season.

So you need to include Sengun in that list that has FVV and Green.

So it seems like anyone tasked to self create in this offense is going to suffer with efficiency.

We already covered this in another post. I got it mixed up and I wasn't even trying to say he played bad. Just some posters here think we only won cuz of him and he was basically his normal self for a majority of the game. The good thing about the last two games is he had a mini hot streak for a quarter. If he can keep that up at least it will be much better.

How many times do you gloss over 30 pt games of other star players and don't notice them getting like 20 of those points in a quarter?

Especially with the modern era of 3>2, streakiness within one game where a player has a high scoring officer game is based on like one quarter of being really hot. A lot of high scoring outputs rim stara today look like that.

Literally saw that with SGA last time we played the Thunder.

If Jalen did everything else as well as Sengun he wouldn't be hated as much. The difference is he is only a scorer and he sucks at it. Not to mention the other teams defense is 100% focused on stopping Sengun and Jalen and FVV are just standing around wide open chucking up bricks.

How am I glossing over? I was complementing him for actually having at least 1 good quarter. Cuz normally it's just 4 quarters of bad. So there's been a 25% improvement.

My biggest issue with Jalen now is no longer his shooting but his ball handling he will never be an elite player in this league with those handles. He can't even dribble up the court against pressure without getting ripped. I wonder what practice is like for him playing against Amen and Tari. Does he ever make it to our half of the court?

Jalen green dribbled up the court with pressure like 10 times last game. You aren't a serious poster. Jalen Green doesn't have Ja Morant level handles. He has above average handles for a scoring guard but meh handles for a primary ball handler.

If you can't do measured criticism then people are going to to engage with you in a harsher manner. Green doesn't have issues bringing the ball up the court.

Also notice one thing about inbound plays after a opponent scores. Notice 90% of the time they are pressing Green before the inbound pass because they'd rather have he other guy that isn't being pressed off ball bring the ball up.

Green has the level of handles that can split doubles and do violent crossovers. He struggles still with stop and go pace in traffic but still significantly improved from when he was 19.

This is child like analysis. Sengun gets doubled only when he's posted up. When it's pnr/dho above the three point line, Fred and Jalen are the ones who are blitzed or doubled and Sengun as the screener or hand off guy is the one being ignored by the defense if he isn't hard rolling to the rim

I was responding to a claim about Fred and Jalen being the only low efficiency high usage offensive players on the team.

Fred has the same "other stuff" that Sengun does in terms of taking care of the ball and setting up the offense. So obviously that wasn't the poster's criteria for criticism. The criteria was merely "bad high usage efficiency".

I never seen a guy with above average handles turn it over soo much dribbling. How do you not see it? Literally last game he got called for double dribble when he split the double team. he dribbles off his foot out bounds at least 1 time a game. It's infuriating. Even when he has the ball to break pressure you never feel comfortable.

Everyone knows the rockets would be better without Jalen green. If we distributed his shots out to other players. I'm more intrigued with Jabari. I think we need to run a lot more plays for him.

He is tough. I believe he will pull through. Guy has been having strokes and other complications for more than a decade and always gets through it!

Maybe your hero Green “magically” takes less shots and gives the ball to Jabari in that high post area where he seems to be just fine getting his little mid range looks…. When he actually gets the ball there. Which is very rarely since Jalen and FVV take turns chucking up bad shots most of the game lol

And yea that would be a much better shot for us that any Jalen green outside shot. So more of those, and less of Jalen Green outside shooting especially when he’s not hitting.

It doesn’t shock me. Sengun has been kind of ass on offense most of the year. I’m hoping his touch around the basket which he has previously consistently shown will come back.

There have been times where I screamed at the TV for coach to take him out, especially when he gets lazy.

But he still doesn’t make as many boneheaded plays as Jalen does at least.

I think Amen is our best chance at a superstar to be honest. Everyone else can be his support stars or whatever lol

You know it's actually sad that Sengun is having the same efficiency of Jalen. That efficiency is normal for Jalen but way below Sengun's norm. That just tells you that Sengun is missing lots of shots he normally would make. If he was doing that, he would almost certainly be in the Top 10 conversation.

True. Jalen has lower expectations when it comes to efficiency as it's been disappointing his entire career. Though I have a sneaking suspicion if he was on a tanking team his first four years like Booker, he'd see massive increases in scoring output and efficiency because you know....

Defense has a energy expenditure component to it.
