Did you is the part about 3 good prospects (from the system with the best of them?). When I had a paredes type OF coming over I said 1 good prospect and a lotto ticket.
He has also been dominant in the post season at times as well. I don’t assume anything (good or bad) with him in the post season. He was gassed after a dominant WS in 2022 and struggled at the end of 2023. I personally hope they extend him. He takes the ball every 5th day - can go deep into games - will play hurt and while he can be bone headed, he usually admits his mistakes and doesn’t look back.
Ace or near ace lefties don't grow on trees. I'm still hopeful they sign him, something between 20-25 for 5 would be good, he'd be 36 so I assume he wants a longer deal though.....
Thank you for reminded folks about how dominant Framber was in the 2022 WS. I’m of the minority who felt he should have won the Series MVP over Pena. Not many starting pitchers win 2 WS games, as dominant as Framber did, and not get it.
Does Cedric Mullins make sense for a Ryan Pressley trade? Supposedly the Orioles were interested in him a season ago and also looked for trade partners for Mullins. Mullins is a lefty outfielder who stole 32 bases last season. He can replace some of what Tuck was good at and this team desperately needs more speed on the basepaths,
Honorable mention to Chas, if he don't make that catch, The Duster was going to toss McCullers for game 7.
I do not think I would go more than three years on a starter with his mileage. I have no problem with paying a good AAV but the risk is very high for starters and for every year you sign them it gets worse.
After this last week of moves, the Rangers moved ahead of the Astros in fangraphs projections. They are neck and neck. The Rangers have some significant health risks in their rotation but if they get some good luck in that regard they are going to have a really good team. Seager-Semien-Pederson-Langford is a really good top half of the lineup and it goes 8 deep with another 3 good bench players. Their rotation also could be deadly if DeGrom and Mahle come back healthy.
Going deep into games cannot be understated. We can't simply field a bunch of guys giving you only 5 or 6 innings.
DeGrom won't pitch past May 1. I don't even know what a Mahle is, oh I see he has a 4.32 career ERA, lol. Eovaldi's contract will be nothing short of a disaster due to injuries and degraded performance.
Max Fried just got 8 yrs $218 M. Framber ain't signing for less than 7 yrs $175M. And that would be less than some of his offers
