.900 OPS’ don’t grow on trees. I had heard in the last week of 2/40 offers but I guess Texas stepped up with 2/37 and the important opt out. He can’t field well - he is an injury risk (but will play hurt), doesn’t hit lefties… but 2/3rds the time he gives you 400 at bats with an OPS around .900. In that ballpark and with some of those guys around him - he could push for an OPS around 1.00 if he is hot and only faces righties. Too much for the Astros because we have Alvarez and Altuve both deserving of DH time.
I don't watch much NL baseball anymore, which is exactly how I was with the AL before we got moved into it, so I can't say I've seen him play all that much. Everything I'm seeing and hearing about him just screams "Houston Astro" to me.
That is how I feel as well. I think after being great for so long, the Astros could use a couple of guys that haven’t consistently won but really want to win - to give the Astros an edge. Walker also has the reputation of playing well under pressure - so he should fit in well. Now we just need to add an outfielder or two that can swing the stick some and we will be in good shape. Our line up really is dangerous when we have depth in the line up…. We are set on the infield, behind the plate and DH… get the outfield addressed and let’s go!
I cannot imagine how we go into the season with the starting OFs we have now...so I expect something to happen in that regard. This is why I asked you the question about Framber earlier.
Like I said, I can't imagine it not happening, but the other 50% of me says "I'll believe it when I see it"
