Samwise and Ron? Or Gandolf and Hermione?

I actually think Jalen and Alpe fit very well. They just put Jalen on-ball a bit too much for a guy who is so-so at driving, average at playmaking for others. I think he’d be an easy and efficient 20-25 a night spacing to the corner, catch and shooting, slashing/cutting off ball and running DHO/2 man games with Alpe. I mean what’s the plan, simultaneously run offense through Alpe while expecting Jalen to become a helio-offense initiator? Kinda what it seems like, and probably why they don’t do either.

Well a 3 is a 3 shooting 33% is equivalent to someone shooting around 50% from 2. People always say shooting around 50% from 2 is pretty good right?

Jalen does drive in a lot not sure why you are acting like he isnt. He also takes a lot of 3 because somebody on the team needs to do so.

I can see Jabari having a minor breakout in the 2nd half of the season.

His ts% is at a current career high after the game this evening. I think eventually soon he should get to about ten 3 point attempts per game. He can get the shot off at a good rate with a decent look. He just has to keep these recent %'s up. He is a keeper for the next decade in my opinion.

The biggest things holding him back is our offense and his teammates who don't pass him the ball.

If he had gone to GSW or the Celtics he'd probably be treated as a franchise cornerstone.

We dont want anyone in GSW and Celtics have Tatum playing his position.

His percentages should be good, because no one is defending him. :D

So let’s not get too crazy in here about the “franchise”…

so the Rockets as a team is shooting 3's at 32.7%/3rd worst in the league
but hey that's equivalent to 49.9% from 2 they good 3 pt shooting team
they should shoot all threes so their 41.4% FGA becomes 49.9% best in the league

and a 33% shooter 3pt shooter is equal to a 40% 3 pt shooter and should deserve the same amount of shots and respect from the defense

    Maybe it already started,

He’s shooting 45% from 3 over the last 15 games … versus the 12 games before that.

He's finally starting to look like the Jabari he was hyped to be 2.5 years ago. That 3 pt shot was looking automatic last night.

He’s playing with more confidence lately, he needs more shot attempts

If he's an above 40% 3 point shooter going forward, he's a hell of a starter.

His shot mechanics are a lot better. Good for him on getting back to his college jumper form.

The shooting and the defense is so awesome, no doubt about it.

The thing that has me hyped though… is how he’s slowly incorporating some drives into the game. Had a drive and kick to open the game that Jalen fumbled. He ran the court and dealt that sweet lob to Jalen for the finish. He also had a drive all the way to the rim for 2.

Getting him shots is a priority imo. They fed him early and looked to be part of the reason why the Pelicans couldn’t just pack the paint, which enables Jalen to get to the cup. But him being more than a stationary shooter is a gigantic development, even if it’s 2 dribble jimmys, drive and kicks or being a competent player on fast breaks. Defenses overloading on Green and Sengun are gonna get got by Jabari. And when they play straight up to account for him our big horses will have room to run.

Part of greatness is making opponents pick a poison.
