How does this make any sense? Sengun got a 100 million and isn't this hated. Jalen is only hated cuz he plays like trash more than 75% of the games. He was absolutely atrocious even in this game in the second quarter. He had a hot streak in the 3rd to salvage his game. Once again the lowest plus minus of all the starters. If the Rockets didn't sign him to this extension we should try to trade him after one of these explosive games. Would be nice if we had Trey Murphy instead. He took Jalen to school all night.
He should be vs the Raptors. As I mentioned the other day, it usually goes by who the rim protector shot blocker is? Teams are using SF's to guard Jalen and where Herb Jones and Trey Murphy are good defenders, the Pels really don't have a good shot blocker. Outside of Scottie Barnes, the Raptors don't have one either. Olynyk, Mogbo aren't going to cut it. R J Barrett and Agbaji will need backup at the rim.
For the amount of money he’s getting yeah. Are you sure a few diehard fans aren’t messing with your perception of how these guys are judged? I’d say the exact opposite: If JG had been playing at the same level as Sengun, he’d have been announced and established as the indisputable #1 option and franchise lead a long time ago. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an ROI-negative player maybe ever, and he keeps getting more and more chances handed to him, despite a consistent record of bad play and barely-there fundamentals.
That's understandable. I agree. If he was putting up numbers I wouldn't have cared what he said (Maldy). I still have faith in Jalen if he can fix his shot selection
I disagree on the idea that shot selection is his issue. For the most part, he takes good shots, shots within the offense - shots you want your 2 guard taking. He just doesn't make them. His mechanics are terrible, all over the place.
Gotta start somewhere. If our guys were going off against the elite teams, we’d be raising a banner this year. Baby steps.
I think his shot selection is awful. He doesn't read the defense. His mechanics are bad. They changed his shot so it's hard to judge.
I think he doesn't really have the luxury to select shots. He is just not skilled enough to create a good shot or create for others, and his role requires scoring. So he is taking what he has. On top of that his mechanics are bad.
I don’t think so.He would still be loved especially if he drops 40 and 35 10 times a year. I have no doubt people would love him despite the inconsistency
Then imagine how bad the starting center is for the Rockets who has the same scoring efficiency as this hopeless undersized chucking "bad mechanics" shooting guard.
