Lebron ruined the NBA with his ego and that "the decision" bullshit. He handles things like a politician and he lobby's in the media to be the greatest instead of just being better on the court. other players have followed his example. then you add a soft commissioner along with the soft face of the league and the game is now soft. players look to join each other instead of looking for competition. that all started with lebron.

People really don't talk about how unlikable and annoying Lebron is. Michael Jordan just performed and didn't go out of his way to tell you his political stance on things (for those that don't remember, he went out of his way to make sure reporters asked him about a Jerry Jones race incident or his endorsement of Harris just a few months ago that thr Athletic for some reason felt like telling me was news). At best he said "Republicans buy sneakers too".

Lebron reminds me of Shiv Roy from Succession. D- strategist that thinks he's an A+.

I don't know anything about to numbers, cable vs streaming, but I can say it's the style of play that has turned a lot of people off. Analytics, with the 40+ 3 pointers a game has made it unbearable to watch. And I know quite a bit of fans (including myself) that use to live and die watching the NBA, that find it hard to watch now.

Its not just all the 3's but the fact that every team has 4-5 guys that have no business ever taking a 3 point shot.

    I don't think I've watched a non-rockets game this season

Here we go! Now the NBA is going to partner up with the WWE. I can see it now. Championship matches during halftime.

I miss real rivalries with real venom. NBA players and coaches have made it clear regular season games barely matter to them over the last few years. Although it’s getting better.

As a fan of the game but mostly just the Rockets…should I care that ratings are down?

does anyone fear they’ll lose so much money they’ll have to shed teams or eventually fold as a league? I don’t.

We need players to stop hanging out together, someone needs to fight and injure the other players. Fight the coach.

Ratings are down 35% without lebron. People tune in to watch when he is there.

You can be a heel or a face just don't be boring which it seems like a lot of the current stars are.

This was done very good by “Hoop Report”. The narrator is a super fan like most of us here on Clutchfans; but he makes you ponder about the future of the NBA.

Lebron is a hypocrite extraordinaire. Butttt what about the chiefs kicker and the Bosa brother delving into social issues? The UFC fighters that have CTE and are Trump supporters? Or Muhamed Ali being anti war? Or the black Olympians that that raised their fists at the podium? That stuff mentioned is either right leaning or old. If it’s LeBron or Colin Kapernick. Or the women’s World Cup soccer team they need to stop being political. Hypocritical and trite 100%

lebron one of the worst spokesman for the sport ever

a very prejudice political person who is wrong on the issues

    his school producing flunks

he knows nothing about the real world and how the real world works

he has even screwed himself out of championships with his demands and controlling franchises

a total enigma and the worst spokesman the nba has ever had

Im currently watching the Cavs vs Bucks game and i just notice the game is so boring if it's not your own team cause it's just mostly chucking 3's. I feel like the casual fan now will only follow his own team whereas in the past the game was interesting enough you'd follow multiple teams/games.

Chiefs kicker and the Bosas are nowhere near the level LeBron is, aka the face of a league. And people got turned off by those examples you named too. They aren't going to face the same scrutiny as LeBron though, for obvious reasons.
