It is peculiar that all those Ignite prospects cannot shoot.......athletic as hell but cannot shoot. But somehow Amen who also cannot shoot, is much better. Got to have great ball instincts.
It is really strange. You would think that would be a focal point but apparently not. Another problem is all those guys are playing for themselves. He does everything else so wellis why. Plus, he's a team guy who works his ass off
I am not out on Reed, but his size is a massive issue, same with Scoot. Scoot has athleticism, and Reed can theoretically shoot, but at the end of the day, you can't pass up on guys like Amen who are insane athletically. They can make a difference in every aspect of the game, and it was never really close when I was thinking about either draft. I wanted Amen in his draft, and last year, I was hoping for Risacher or Sarr. Of course they got drafted ahead of us, so I was fine with them drafting Reed, but ideally, I'd have liked to trade back and boost the war chest of picks for a trade down the road. We didn't really need another project. I'd like all of Reed's minutes to go to Cam.
bball iq skills health/durability athleticism/length of these four, the top three are the most important to be a great player in the nba athleticism/length is a hall of fame producing superstar add on to the other 3 it is the least important of the four
They all are rhythm players with a green light to shoot as much as they like - reminds me of when Silas used to park JG in corner for catch and shoot only
Scoot Henderson is just a slightly shorter version of Jalen with better handlers that wasn't given a green light to do whatever the hell he wants for 4 years.
To be fair, just to play devil's advocate as a huge fan of Amen's game, he does often play in the dunker spot and takes more shots around the rim than most guards/wings, and he's still an inefficient player beyond 10 feet. That said, he has already shown real improvement as a jump shooter and I'm starting to really believe he can be at least average in that area while being elite in several others.
Which means he shoots high percentage shots, indicating a strong sign of Extremely high BB IQ. Amen is so active and skilled that he is infinitely more valuable moving than standing in place as a spot up shooter. I was so disappointed when the Rockets got the 4th pick, as everyone kept hyping up the top 3 players as legit franchise players. But besides Wemby, I don’t trade him for anyone drafted since at least 2021.
Oh, I don't disagree, just pointing out that he's still not a good jump shooter, but at least a much-improved one. His basketball IQ is phenomenal. I think I'd still trade him for Jalen Williams, but other than him and Wemby, I agree. I can't think of many players from 2022 or 2023 I would prefer over him, not even Banchero or Holmgren, who I have some long term concerns about (for differing reasons). 2024, too early to tell, but it was a weak draft class so I doubt it. I feel pretty vindicated about preferring him over Brandon Miller in the '23 draft class. Miller has been inefficient and not that good on defense this season and is showing some of the concerns I had with him may be real. But I still liked Scoot better than both, and totally missed on that one.
Scoot and Jalen are my 2 biggest draft misses in a long time, maybe i should lay off guards who can't shoot.
I almost fainted reading the first part but I redeemed myself on the second half. I didn't' bite on the Scoot generational label by the experts.
Explain why you're crying or just block me so you don't derp the board up with this nonsense. Essentially be an adult and have a conversation or piss off.
I don't mind trading green for scute and a mountain of picks. that cam and scute can battle to the death for the starting spot and the losing one can command the 6th.
