I think you bring him back at age 37 when his current contract ends. Maybe a 1 or 2 year deal for $10M-$20M a year. I didn't interpret the article as the team bringing in a bunch of Vets w Harden if he came, I read it as Ime telling those other vets we are not there yet, and I think he had a real conversation with James on what he was looking for, and likely didn't like what he heard from him. Otherwise I don't even see the point of having dinner and having that meeting, I think it would have otherwise just been a phone call. He likely would have tried to develop the young guys while Harden played a different role than he has played most of his career. James was also looking for max long term money at the time, so he likely saw himself as a franchise guy still.

I think after another 1.5 seasons our guys will have developed enough good habits and James' ego will be in check, and we can have him maybe come off the bench for his age 37-38 seasons, or start and play 20-25 minutes a game. James Harden playing a limited role could be what this team needs if he's willing to take a pay cut to finish his career in Houston.

If the clippers fall off. What are the chances we can get Harden.

This team needs someone with the ability to make plays, find open players, move people into the right spot. If all else fails atleast you have the step back.

Tired of seeing these jack up 3s.

Does anyone else notice how hard the backboard gets hits when Jalen shoots?? I can hear it through the TV. It’s like if someone used the ball as a Javelin to break a backboard

Idc what rationale this organization tricked themselves into using, ain’t no way in hell FVV was a better option than Harden

this team DESPERATELY needs someone who can organize and run an offense

the rationale behind picking FVV over Harden, I understand. They thought Harden was going to take away from the development from the young players. It makes sense. In retrospect, it was a mistake. Our defense wouldn't be as good but our offense would be so much better. What sucks is that Fred most likely re-signs. Reed is 3 years away from being a bench player.

I don’t even think our defense would be that far off from what it is now, clippers are doing great defensively with harden playing 30ish minutes per game.

our offense would become much more smooth with Harden.

Which is why I’m asking if it’s even possible to get harden.

A lot of people don’t like him here because of how he left or playoff chokes. But I don’t think he would be heavily ball dominant like his old days, he seems to understand his role as well as who should be running the show.
Also if he still is the most reliable player at age 36 in the clutch we are ASS

Harden wanted a full 4-year max which would pay him the max amount till he's 38 years old.

I think it was the combination of fit and the huge cap space commitment to a player who was clearly declining at the age of 35.

FVV is not the answer at the point, he takes way too many shots when he's having an off-night.

Jabari should've had more shot attempts but our team has so many chuckers when they're bricking, they keep shooting instead of giving it to guys who are actually having a good night.

The problem with replacing FVV right now is we are already one of the worst playmaking teams in the league, so whoever we trade for is going to have to be good at playmaking.

Would love to have Harden in the rotation right now.

No one was offering him that. Harden makes less than FVV.

Games like these make me wish we had harden again. Fvv is not a good playmaker

That's after the Rockets declined. The Rockets was apparently the only team that would consider before Udoka said no. He expected a full max at that point. Morey refused to offer him that and he called him a liar. It was then he realized that nobody else would give him a full max. He ended up opted in his last year with Philly and then settled with far less with the Clippers.

When he realized no one was giving him max I think if rockets offer 3 years 105 or something like that he would have probably accepted.

Harden would only want to go to Houston if dealt, no other city.

We don't really know what exactly happened. Some people suspect that he was only using Houston as leverage.

Anyway, it didn't seem to make sense for the Rockets to sign Harden, and it made even less sense for Harden to sign with the Rockets other than money.

    It's again Utah though.

He used to dominate against Donovan Mitchell and Gobert.

James Harden with 34 pts in 1st half....

I blame Ime again who selected Fred over Harden. Fred has the worst shooting now. Ime is ****ing short sighted.

Imagine Harden teaching Amen, Jalen and Reed the ropes instead of FVV playing 40min going 2-12.
