Best case scenario: Altuve Yordan Diaz Walls Santander Jeremy Chas Singleton Jake Utility Dubon. Late June/ Early July additions: Cam Smith Joins the squad provides adrenaline shot. Wins ROY Late July additions: Sightings of the Reptil and Lance are made by the locals. Seen playing catch with each other. August: More reptil sightings, throwing off the mound. Both close to returning. September: Reptil and Lance are to return mid September. I promise. October: Oops, one fell off the lawnmower the other slept wrong on the plane. Out til 2026. Stros still win the division with 90 games.
If they add Bregman and Santander: 2B- Altuve DH- Alvarez RF- Santander 3B- Bregman C- Diaz 1B- Paredes SS- Peña CF- Meyers/Chas LF- Dezenzo
Schwab just makes **** up trolling for engagement. Suzuki wasn't in this deal because he didn't want to be traded, and Arenado doesn't wan to come to Houston, nor do the Astros needed another 3B. Focus on OF and a 1B.
It's funny how the Schwab and Ari (an ACTUAL reporter) tweets are contradicting each other at exactly the same time! 9:31pm So we're still in play for Breggy and are the only team to reportedly make an offer so far. No need to bid against yourselves! Let it play out and up the offer slightly if necessary. If someone else offers him an exorbitant amount then start the appreciation thread and move on.
Fans always have a significant misconception on prospects based on public rankings. The top 10 prospects, and then top 50 or so are generally separate tiers. After that you could throw over 200 prospects together in a group and it becomes very subjective as to who is the best. Maybe he fails, maybe he doesn't, but just because Cam Smith hasn't been listed as a top 100, maybe even top 60 prospect so far doesn't mean it's unreasonable for Brown to view him at that level.
He’s #73 on MLB pipeline so he’s already been listed as a top 100 prospect. If he performs well in AA to start the season, I’m sure he will shoot up the lists considering how well last year went for him. That said, everything you said is on point…these prospects lists are pretty meaningless outside of the obvious can’t miss top guys.
Why do you/yall feel especially obligated to get info from the GM and coaches and whoever? The less they say the better, as far as I'm concerned.
Some smoke around Arenado. I would really like that move. This is a 2025 lineup I could really get excited about: 3B Polanco 1B Arenado 2B Altuve DH Alvarez C Diaz LF Verdugo CF McCormick SS Pena RF Dezenzo/Trammell/Whitcomb/Leon/Hummel/Melton/Corona/Dubon/Meyers That lineup has a lot of risk but also a tremendous amount of upside. The main thing I like about it is that every player except Verdugo has potential for 20+ HR, and McCormick (and maybe whoever hits 9th) is the only player who projects to have a high strikeout rate.
Did you leave Paredes out of that lineup intentionally? You think we move him or he comes off the bench?
Arenado’s bat is cooked. His remaining value is his still very good defense at 3B. He’s got a million gold gloves there. Moving him to 1st wouldn’t make sense.
