same. Kind of feel like brown wants to literally start with his own guys, I’m sure crane isn’t easy to deal with his limited hot dog money.

We don’t talk about the outfield. (Or the gaping hole at first)

George Springer, Josh Reddick, Kyle Tucker, Michael Brantley are not walking through that door!

Is Pedro Leon that bad to give him a chance? He’s a fast center fielder.

Don't care, I'm looking for a forward thinking GM, not a reactionary GM.

I'm willing to give Dana the benefit of the doubt and see how he spends the new found money. He still needs to trade Pressly and Caratini to add more money to his budget. I'm just hoping Santander, Paredes isn't his answer to trading Tucker and losing Brwgs.

Yeah we might as well just have a fire sale if we are really considering going into the season with an OF of Meyers, Chas and a Dubon platoon.

Exactly, I'd trust the Tucker move with a competent GM but all these dudes happy we just lost our 2nd best player because he was gOiNg tO WaLk in a year for nothing.... Like, why not actually do your f*cking job and get some players so you have another shot before Tucker walks....

Brown wasn't GM when the Astros signed McCullers, Abreu, and Montero. That is 47 million of dead a$$ money on the roster that he has to deal with, and Crane wasn't willing to spend enough to overcome the dead money...

He also inherited a very weak farm system. He can't create players out of thin air.

    https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5993120/2024/12/13/yankees-alex-bregman-free-agent-scott-boras/

The Yankees have discussed free-agent third baseman Alex Bregman with his agent, Scott Boras, Cashman said. At the Winter Meetings earlier this week, Boras said he’s had numerous talks with clubs and owners regarding Bregman’s availability on the market. The Yankees are one of the teams that have expressed interest.

“We all know what comes after A (Alex) and B (Bregman) is a C — champion,” Boras said. “And in Bregman’s case, that’s C-squared. All of these teams realize what a leader he is and what a champion he is, plus his skill level. He’s very much in demand.”

Boras has said Bregman would be open to a position change to second base, but if he were to be signed by the Yankees, he’d likely stick at third base. There are a couple of high-ranking Yankees officials who’ve loved Bregman since he was a star at LSU. But it would be interesting to see the Yankees sign Bregman because he was on the 2017 Astros, a team Cashman has vehemently denounced every opportunity he’s given because he believes his club was cheated out of a World Series appearance. He didn’t cross Bregman off — and he wouldn’t even if he wasn’t interested because he could face complaints from the MLBPA — but he did speak positively about the third baseman.

“My job is to find a way to make us as quality as we can year in and year out,” Cashman said. “We’ll vet every opportunity out there. He’s been a thorn in our side for years, along with other people’s sides. He’s now into free agency. I’m sure he’s got a boatload of choices. Players like him make a lot of money. I have had a conversation or two with Scott Boras. I certainly respect the player and his ability and how much winning he’s been a part of, but that’s as far as I’ll say at this point.”

Brown hasn't done anything since getting here except bringing in a closer we did not need and giving him alot of money..... Like, why???? We been needing a 1B and CF and this man ran out to bring a closer..... Nah, I've seen enough... Every year since he got here he says they making some moves and then just fade away quietly.... All talk...

I don't think the Astros are going to sign 2 QOs when they are losing only one. It's stupid to throw away picks when you need them to help rebuild the farm system.

That was Crane's decision as well.

He signed Caratini, he convinced the organization that Blanco was a starter, he signed multiple FA relievers on the cheap that had solid seasons in the bullpen. He made a great deadline acquisition for 3 meh prospects. He has had two strong drafts. He's done more right than wrong when you consider what he's actually done and stop adding Crane's stupid decisions to his ledger.
