Not saying you're wrong, but when has Dana popped off, I haven't really noticed this.

Agreeed, but giving a 30 year old guy isn't a good idea. This includes Altuve, he's also currently in decline both at the plate and especially in the field. His range has really declined. It cost the Stros game 2 against the Tigers.

What would y'all think about a trade that looked like this.

    Parades/Shaw/Smith for Tucker?

Then work on a deal for Robert or Walker.

Scroll back (not sure if it's on this thread or not) but two specific examples are him saying that Tucker will "be an Astro for the rest of his career" and he said the same with Bregman.

    I remember this now, thanks.

I'm sure Dana was used to operating the way the Braves did things.

Crane operates in a totally different way. He keeps everyday players and replaces out of the farm and somewhat in FA. He's paid the pitchers.

Would Shaw be a good OF?

Usually guys that can play SS make good OF'ers.

No to Walker. Astros can't be losing draft picks at this point in time of rebuilding the minors. There are plenty of 1B available that don't cost much in terms of a long-term deal or draft compensation.

There aren't many !B that are 30 hr guys/GG winners.

I do worry about his age though.

I don't remember mentioning Correa or Springer, so not sure why they are being brought up.

ONE acquisition does not tell the story of Brown's tenure, does it? If I am not mistaken, it was Dana's call to make Ronel Blanco a starter and he hired Espada. Did your contacts have a problem with those moves?
Anyway, Brown was hired because of his proficiency in the draft. We shall see what happens, but he is a proven evaluator of talent. The trades and major free agent moves are still directred by Crane and his council of Hall of Fame golfing buddies. That is at the insistance of ownership.

It already is a bad contract. Altuve has been and remains uniquely the face of the Astros. He has earned the teams allegiance.

I've been wanting to post about him for a while. I think he's going to be good. If comes out and smashes at Sugarland he'll be up here sooner than later.

Exactly. I'm not saying pay every player. There are certain players u make am exception for. Altuve is at the top of that list. Did the guy really want to see Altuve walk?

Framber is worth more on the trade market today than he will be as an Astros pitcher for one more season. Either way he will not be an Astro in 26.

The Athletic is essentially the mouthpiece for Yankee fandom now... ugh.
