Don’t know who the author is but why would the Astros leak this if they’re leveraging other teams? I suppose one angle is to get NY to up their offer but that seems counter productive and gives other teams the impression their own offer may be too much. That he could be had for less.
We can just disagree The difference is Altuve played 2b and had very little competition for all star bids, gold gloves, silver slugger, etc. Give Alex the 5 years, that Altuve has on him and even the position competition: (Machado, Chapman, Ramirez, Devers, Donaldson, etc) and their careers probably look very similar. Outside of 2015, Alex has contributed to every playoff win that Altuve has. And it can be argued that Alex has been just as good, and even better since 2021. I love Altuve. He's on the Astros Mt.Rushmore. But I think Alex deserves much more than he gets.
The longer we wait the more the Astros will get fleeced on a deal for Tucker. Great deals usually happen without much warning... we are still in the good deal window right now but not if it extends until next week.
His bio says he's a beat writer for nj.com, which is a legitimate news outlet / content provider. I just can't see the Astros making a blockbuster-type deal with Brian Cashman. Can't imagine Crane would want to help him or the Yankees.
Don't be surprised if nothing gets done. It's Dana Brown. He pops off quite a bit and more so then not nothing gets done to back up it.
People love to hyperbolize this time of year. Boras will continue to get his clients the most money and will steer towards teams that are doing that. He will continue to carry out his clients wishes.
Dana better not budge to anything lesser than Suzuki, Parades, and Shaw or Smith or else I'll be sorely disappointed. I'd throw in Pressley if that's what it takes.
You love to see it… now knowing it— well, sources say… also, why not sign a stud SP or mid-innings RP who can pacman up innings and batters depending on the opponent’s lineup (also, am thinking LMJ may be *that* guy this year). With as much as this team loves its SPs to get IR’d—>TJS… we need a young dependable machine of a starter ala Arrighetti, Blanco, Brown… whats our MiL system look like when it comes to SPs/bullpen??? edit: ALSO— hows our Central American pool of prospects now that “the Kevin Feige of south of the border” executive mastermind & legitimate connection seems to not exist anymore???
with these crazy contracts, is that kikuchi contract looking more and more reasonable? did we even make him an offer?
i hope they package up Tucker, FV, AND Press (and possibly Meyers/Dezenzo/Trammel in a blockbuster trade that shows 2 or 3 other teams get just as much love as we do… Im still it hing my balls over this. How//Why would you not?!?! I get it if he preferred the west coast / closer to home & all… but damnn, he may have been one of THE MAIN reasons we made the post-season initially.
He worked for the chronicle for years( maybe still does?) but definitely doesn’t seem like the type of guy to make something like this up
