The Mavs might have gambled away their future assets but what they did last trade deadline was close to a master class of how to make the Finals solely on a couple trades alone........ I rarely see that happening in the last 10-15 years. Probably did it even 2x. I also think the Dirk supporting cast was assembled pretty swiftly before 2011. Easily a Top 7 GM group.
Lakers actual gm is too busy playing and managing his son's G league career to get anything else done.
They were 28th two years ago, bringing along Ime is a good move, but the Jalen extention is questionable outside of matching salaries.
The survey always has a lot of recency bias. That 11th rank was only based on the Rox getting 0.500 in just 3 yrs which was impressive enough. Now in Y4 the Rox somehow reached 2nd seed. If you consider the PHX picks which might be lotto Stone will be top 10 or even top 5 in next year's survey.
I disagree how is the extension questionable? Its only a 3 yr deal y'all act like he is making the max or something. Its not like he is total ass either who was the one who got the ball and clutched 2 fts last game? Stone did more than just bring in Ime, vets like FVV and Dillon Brooks brought in the winning culture. He doubled the Rox assets getting 2 picks and 2 swaps while also improving the 2027 Nets pick. Ironically his worst move so far might be using the 3rd pick on Reed Sheppard, a move CF was so sure and adamant at the time.
