Well in earlier articles, Yao Ming said he will get his credit card ready, and treat the full team of Houston Rockets to a feast of the famous hairy crabs. He took them out to the famous Peace Hotel at the Bund (i.e. Shanghai Wai Tan) for dinner. The above are the cakes and fruits prepared for them by the Peace Hotel. I presumed they are deserts after dinner !!! Sometimes, I wonder why JVG is always that serious, never smiles, and always dress so formal ???
What? You thought the NBA set up preseason games in China, hauled two of its teams, additional players, the commish and hall-of-famers there for fun?
they just let the biggest human freak walk by. It is hard not to turn your head when a 7-6 human walk by.
Now I know WHY JVG has to dress that formal. He and Yao Ming together with David Stern and other NBA officials had to meet with the Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Chen Liangyu. So there is no time for change of attires, I think. The rest of the Rockets were lucky as they were not required for such not-so-meaningful courtesy call.
There is nothing wrong of hairy crabs with me. I can eat 3 ~ 4 of these for dinner. I was just wondering sometimes foreigners may not be accustomed to Chinese food.
