ClutchFans Game Thread: Warriors @ Rockets 12/11/2024

Sheer grit and determination led the Rockets to this important win.

I'm hoping this opens a mental door for our guys. That was playoff atmosphere and to see that close win can rip down barriers for a team that could look at more experienced teams with a little doubt.

Probably most important W of the season so far.

Kerr was furious and took it out on the ref when he's really mad that his team made mistakes you'd expect from a rookie squad.

It’s usually experienced teams that finish games like this, yet the Warriors made costly mistakes while the young Rockets executed. The Rockets did what you’d expect from a team like the Warriors.

With 3 minutes left and a 6-pt lead, the Warriors committed 4 costly turnovers (including 2 shot clock violations), and the Rockets capitalized with 7 points to win by 1. FVV, Alpi, Smith Jr, Green, and the Rockets defense all contributed to that run. Even though they shot like crap, they are ahead of schedule.

 

Cry all they want … every Looney or Green block on our driving is a foul not called. Also our guys stop swarming on Looney / Green catching at post. They don’t post a threat requiring that much attention 10 feet away back to the rim. So frustrating to see freaking back door is opened up by that gimmick.

 

The Rockets are champions!!!!

 

That was an awesome finish to the game last night!

Even better when I saw Steve Kerr's reaction to it in the interview after hahah.

 

Love this so much. Chemistry is the single most important team aspect to championship level squads. They're getting there.

 

Jabari's defense on that final play was fantastic. First he flustered Carrot Top into a (no-called) 5 second violation, then he shaded on Curry just enough to force him to pass, then was able to recover and close out fast enough on Carrot Top to block the final shot. Damn solid.

 

Good to be on the other side for once.

Looked like a foul to me… Looney pulled him away enough to miss that rebound, but I guess ref reviewer saw it differently. I guess Sengun lost his balance before Looney touched his back?

 

L2M report from last nights Rockets-Warriors matchup shows only one missed call in the last 30 seconds… Podziemski took longer than 5 seconds to inbounds the ball on the last possession. All other calls made were correct.

 

I have a deep, abiding, and complete dislike of Steve Kerr. He always seems so entitled. Like, the world should revolve around what he thinks.
