very kind of turk reaching down to help out a fallen player. all the while van fleep be screaming and bullying the breh.
I can totally see that Kerr quote catching on. But it's true, in my opinion. The hellish, deep-red Rockets defense will torture you for 48 minutes at a time!
It was a bad call by the referee, we know how that works. It is great to see the opposition get the win ripped away by something they have no control of for a change.
Here’s the thing. As a coach, I still think you take responsibility. To say something like “That was one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen in my life. However, we never should’ve been in that position. Up 8 with a minute left and a chance to close, there’s no excuse. Steph should’ve held onto the ball and drained more of the clock before letting that shot go. I should’ve challenged that call. Just poor execution on our part all around and something we will clean up come playoff time. But hats off to Houston for capitalizing”. Something like that reads much classier than what he said instead. It also speaks more to the truth. That was their game to lose, and they fumbled the bag in their late game execution. Nobody is talking about that, and I kind of like that that is their narrative, because they won’t learn and grow from it if they don’t take accountability for the only thing that they are in control of. They are not in control of the referees, so really should be focusing on the things that they can improve upon.
Kerr is right. In a close game you’re allowed to jump on a guy’s neck, everyone knows that, it’s in the rules. It’s the same rule that adds three feet to the basketball court in close games.
The Warriors don't need to learn and grow from anything. Kerr should have said what you said but the man is essentially basketball royalty right now which is why he didn't get a tech called on him for having a tantrum. What this game was is a precursor to the Rockets knocking them out of the playoffs this year, let's go
Barkley re-iterated this several times last night during inside the NBA. He also credited the Rockets defense while also saying that we don't know how to to play basketball, but at least he called out Steph multiple times. I know the media hasn't ran with it, but Charles stated it multiple times.
That’s fair. I shouldn’t have said “no one”. But it does seem like the overwhelming majority are focusing on ONE play (albeit a huge one) but to me they did it to themselves with poor late game execution putting the game in the refs hands. Funny enough after posting what I did I found the Warriors post game on YouTube and they were really fair. They said the Jalen call for free throws will get called every time (shrug).
