Hard to find them for cheap. Easy to find them on the open market. We could have had any number of them over the last five years, I cluding Soto, but on the free market, they are out of our price range evidently.
]l The problem with Tucker is he has the tools to be great but he doesn’t put in the work. I’m not paying that guy 400 million.
Because I neither think his playoff performance demands it nor that he's the type of player that will age well - i.e. he's not Face of Dynasty {Altuve, Breg The Mang}.
Bregman unlikely for Red Sox, but other big names possible A match with free agent third baseman Alex Bregman "does not seem to be a priority" for the Red Sox, reports The Athletic. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/...ees-others-move-on-after-juan-soto-deal/live/
Meant Berkman (most think of hm as an outfielder) while my fingers typed Bregman. Posting tired, sorry.
If we get outbid by the Detroit freaking Tigers. That would be pathetic. This whole thing is pathetic. I can't believe being in the 4th largest city. The sustained success since 17. That we are even having this discussion. What else as a city can we do? Astros gear everywhere i go. And we can't afford one of Bregman or Tucker? I can understand maybe not retaining both but not being able to retain at least one of them is just ridiculous. I don't know if I'm mad at MLB or Jim Crane. The god damn Dodgers have 3 of the top 10 contracts in baseball. My team is not gonna be able to afford our own homegrown stars.
I understand trading Tucker now makes sense if you’re not going to pay him his going rate, but I’m not going to sit here and pretend that he doesn’t have the potential to be an MVP in this league
